Silent Night with Stampin’ Up!’s Peace to You

The very moment I saw Peace to You, a gorgeous stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, I knew this stamp set would be coming to live with me. What gorgeous artistry in a unique stamp set. I immediately began dreaming up ways to showcase these beautiful images and couldn’t wait to play. I finally had a chance to sit down and play with this set – and I wasn’t disappointed in the least.  Here’s a card I created with Peace to You:

Peace to You, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Christmas CardThe stamp set features two gorgeous images that are “negative” stamps – the stamp picks up ink on the background and the image is shows in the white space between. There are so many ways to showcase these images. Here’s a look at the Peace to You stamp set:

Peace to You, Stampin Up! 159776Beautiful, right?! I knew this snowy church would look amazing in Night of Navy, so I opened the stamp set, mounted the stamp and reached for my Night of Navy. It was nowhere to be found (the only ink pad not in its place). It needed to be stamped in Night of Navy…After searching for a little bit, I looked at other colors. Starry Sky was a little brighter than I originally wanted, but I decided to give it a try. After stamping the image on Thick Basic White, I gasped. It was perfect! Here’s a closer look at this image on the white cardstock:

Peace to You, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Christmas CardAfter I stamped the image, I wasn’t sure where to go from there. I lined up the image in my Paper Trimmer and snipped away at the edges until I had a white panel I wanted. I layered that on a 1/8″ wider and taller piece of Starry Sky cardstock and then layered that on a 1/8″ wider and taller piece of Basic Gray cardstock. The layering was simple and gave this image a modern look.

The sentiment, also from the Peace to You stamp set, was stamped on Basic Gray cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I carefully trimmed the long, slender sentiment and added it to the space below the church. Just what I wanted! I didn’t intend to use Starry Sky on this card, but it truly came through for me. Good times!

  1. Beautifully done. Can you share the dimensions of the card stock used on the layers. Thank you

    • Thanks, Tory! I stamped the image on Basic White and then cropped around the image with my trimmer and added layers at 1/8″ inch wider and taller with each layer. The white layer with the image is approximately 3-1/8″ x 4-1/4″. I hope that helps.

  2. Absolute perfection in Starry, Starry Sky!

  3. Pretty ! Starry Sky is a color that dazzles ! I need to pull mine out and put it to work

  4. You layered the card so beautifully!

  5. Stunning design! Happy accident with the color choice—so modern and even more impactful than with Night of Navy (which I’ve seen). The layering—as usual—seals the deal. You truly are the King of artistic arrangement. Bravo!

  6. I’m glad you misplaced Night of Navy because Starry Sky looks so perfect.

  10. Snow perfect my friend. I love this card and set though I don’t have it yet. Starry sky and basic gray, I plan on using this religiously! Well, had to stick another pun in there, but I do plan on trying my hand at this beauty. Just so serene and perfect and like Wendie said, would bring peace to anyone!

    • When I saw that you commented, I was certain there were no puns, but … there they were … and perfect. ♥ Thanks so much, Chris! Hope all is well with you.
