It’s almost the time of year for all things spooky and fun. And Stampin’ Up! has all you need to make sure your treats are the cutest on the block. So today we’re sharing Halloween treat ideas. Design a Treat Box Dies

Halloween is a sensitive subject for me – every year (for 10 years), every single child in the entire world has avoided knocking on my door at Halloween, so I’m left with a big bucket of candy. That persistent rejection doesn’t stop me from crafting adorable treat holders for the candies I eat by myself during the weeks after Halloween.

For today’s blog hop, I’ve created two adorable treat boxes that are perfectly adorable for Halloween enthusiasts of any age. I created multiples of each in preparation for this post, but I settled on photographing and sharing these two boxes:

Design a Treat Box Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Halloween Treat BoxThese adorable, little boxes (the inside of each box is nearly a 1-1/4″ cube) are simple to assemble. I simply cropped the boxes with the single die in the Design a Treat Box Dies, folded and then taped four edges with Tear & Tape Adhesive. If you don’t make Halloween treat holders, you should still give this bundle a look – there are designs for all occasions. Here’s a look at the Design a Treat Bundle, which includes the Design a Treat stamp set and coordinating Design a Treat Box Dies:

Design a Treat Bundle, Stampin Up! 159895Did you see the bows, bunny ears and reindeer antlers? How about the numbers that can be cut out to create a 3D Advent Calendar? Here’s a closer look at each of the boxes with a quick summary of the elements in each:

Design a Treat Box Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Halloween Treat BoxI cropped the treat box for the bat design with a Basic Gray and Basic Black design from the Black & White Designs Designer Series Paper and added a “Boo!” from the Scary Cute stamp set. The sentiment was cropped with a tiny oval from the Design a Treat Box Dies and framed with a Basic Black cutout from the same dies.

The bat wings fit snugly between the two half-moons that pop up through the folded flaps of the box top. To give my bat a face, I cropped one of the half moons from the die with Basic Black cardstock and added two great eyes with tiny circles from the Reindeer Builder Punch. To open the box, the recipient can lift from the tabs, removing the bat and opening the flaps.

Design a Treat Box Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian King, Halloween Treat BoxI cropped the star-filled box with the Celebrate Everything Host Designer Series Paper. This page could be used for so many occasions, but it seems to fit for Halloween. I added a “3” and “1” (for Halloween’s date) that’s cropped from White Glimmer Paper with the Design a Treat Box Dies. I added a Crushed Curry star from the Give it a Whirl Dies. I originally envisioned the star would make a great topper for the box (like the cute bat), but the star wasn’t nearly as large as I’d originally thought.

I really like the ovals with the numbers cut out. After cropping them, though, I had a “3” and a “1” that I used on another box.
