Sending Comfort & Strength

There must be a bottleneck on surgeries following the lock-downs of the past two years because I know a lot of people who are enduring surgeries on legs and arms. A friend is home, recovering from a surgery on her leg, so I made a sweet card (with beautiful products) to hopefully lift her spirits a bit while she recovers. Here’s a look at the card I made for her:

After I started assembling the elements on this card, I became a little nervous about the sentiment. In my head, at the time, comfort & strength was a perfect thing to send to my friend who was recovering from surgery. I began to worry that it was more of an expression of sympathy, though. I sent the card (and obviously hoped to send comfort and strength, too), but I still wonder if I should have sent “smiles” or “hugs” or “sunshine.” What are your thoughts?

The card showcases two popular bundles from Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog: the Sending Smiles Bundle and the Cottage Rose Bundle. Here’s a look at each:

I stamped “comfort & strength” with Memento Tuxedo Black on Petal Pink cardstock and cropped it with the Sending Dies. The flowers are stamped with Smoky Slate on Basic White and cropped with the Cottage Flowers Dies. Here’s a closer look:

Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper:

I pulled the colors for this card straight from the pack of papers. If you like this mix of Petal Pink, Smoky Slate and Basic Black as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. Looking very polished in Petal Pink and Smoky Slate.

  2. Your thoughts of comfort and strength are right on for recovering from leg surgery. Comfort from the pain and building strength back. Very nice card and sentiment. I’m sure it was appreciated.

  3. I agree with René. You chose the right sentiment. Speaking from experience, strength and comfort were just what I needed (and received). The card is gorgeous, too!
