Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Spooky Treats

I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. It’s always such fun to see what others are making and to spend that time with my customers who participate. I love this time to connect with my customers.

Pumpkin in the Fungeon, Brian KingToday I’m sharing some alternative projects with this last month’s Spooky Treats kit – a super-fun collection of little boxes you can fill with treats for Halloween. The colors, images and elements in this month’s kit are spooky AND fun! Here’s a look at the finished projects from the September 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit:

Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin, Stampin Up!

How sweet are these little treat boxes?! Here’s a look at the stamp set and coordinating elements in this kit:

Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin, Stampin Up!I am still wow’d by the combinations of colors in this fun kit. The added elements (die-cut panels, die-cut pieces and embellishments) make it really special. Mom finished all of her boxes, and I played to make a variety of different projects.

Alternative Projects

As always, I designed a handful of projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – I’m sharing four of them with you today.

Here’s a look at three of my alternative projects with this kit:

Cracker & Treat Box

I cropped a treat cracker with the Cracker & Treat Box Dies (new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2022 Annual Catalog) with a piece of Pumpkin Pie 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. You can’t see the inside of this cracker from the photo, but the plaid design on the opposite side shows on the open sides of the cracker. I added a panel of spooky bats from the Paper Pumpkin Kit along one side of the cracker and then a “Happy Halloween” sentiment that’s popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Mini Pocket Envelope

I adore the ghosts in this Paper Pumpkin Kit. Since they are designed with a Fresh Freesia glow, I designed a treat pocket with Fresh Freesia 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I love how both sides of this paper show through in the pocket envelope. With leftover scraps, I cropped a little band that’s cantilevered to the right side of the bag. How fun and simple is this?!

Happy Halloween

I love the peekaboo spider web wrap in one of the boxes from the kit. I cut into one of the webs to create a layered card that features Fresh Freesia elements from the kit. I added three stars from the embellishments in the kit. I know there’s a spider on this card, but the soft purple really adds as sweetness, don’t you think? I’m sharing a little more about Fresh Freesia spiders a little later. 🙂

I also love the plaid-striped panel in the kit and couldn’t help but to whip up a quick 3″ x 3″ card to feature the panel. I added a scalloped circle and fun sentiment (also from the kit). My envelope features a few stamped bats from the kit, too!

Colors in this Kit

I am completely in love with the mix of colors in this Halloween-themed kit. Fresh Freesia and Pumpkin Pie are not colors I would normally associate with spiders and spooky ghosts, but I’ve been wrong before. I want to share this image by my photographer sister-in-law, Chelsea Baggett – this is a gorgeous spider (as spiders go), and the colors are familiar, no?

Chelsea is a talented photographer who mostly schedules individual and family portraits (you can see some of her amazing work here). I can’t get over the gorgeous colors in this spider.
