Nothing Fancy, Just Love

There are so many things to love in the pages of Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. From incredible papers to must-have bundles, you’ll certainly have a long list of products you love. I’ve created a card that combines a top-of-the-wish-list paper with a top-of-the-wish-list bundle to make a simple, layered card. Here’s my card:

How about that black foil paper with the Basic Gray flowers?! Is that not gorgeous?! I cut strips of the flowers from a page found in the Ready to Ride Specialty Designer Series Paper to build a simple, striped background on my card. The papers coordinate with a motorcycle-themed suite that’s both beautiful and rugged. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Ready to Ride Specialty Designer Series Paper:

Ready to Ride Specialty Designer Series Paper, black foil, Stampin Up!, Brian KingWe can’t talk about the gorgeous paper without giving a shout out to the amazing sentiment, right? “Nothing fancy, just love” is only one of  ten great sentiments in the Something Fancy stamp set. Here’s a look at the Something Fancy Bundle, which includes the great sentiments (be sure to click on the image below to see all of the sentiments) and a great set of dies that are versatile to be used with other stamp sets, too:

Something Fancy Bundle, Stampin Up! 160425I love the dies in this set but wanted a simple, simple shape on the flowery strips. I cropped the sentiment with a circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies. Here’s a closer look:

Pool Party is one of my all-time favorite colors – it is bright when paired with bright red, it is soft when paired with soft green and it is cold when paired with grays. If you love the mix of Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Basic Black I used on this card, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  1. The new paper is gorgeous in your simple design!

  2. Ditto what Mary said. I love the strips of beautiful paper. Enjoy your day!

  3. Beautiful layering and a beautiful card!

  4. As usual I am a goner for the elegant layering on your card.
This DSP collection is one I’d buy for the “reverse” designs. Can you lobby SU to create a pack of DSP that is a BK compilation of personal faves?! I’d stock up on that collection in a heartbeat!
Great color combo on this project, too.❤️

    • Awww….I love that so much, Linda! I would LOVE to have a pack of past favorites. Like you, that pack of papers would jump right into my shopping cart. 🙂
      Thanks!

  5. Love the layout & the colors. Stunning card, Brian.

  6. WOW! Another card that stops me in my tracks. I love the color combo and I had not thought to get this paper, but you’ve shown us a way to use it without the obvious. Super cool!

    • Thank you so much, Bobbi! I’m so happy you like the card – it was fun to play with paper to soften the black and gray. There are some beautiful pages in this pack of papers (that would be easy to overlook if motorcycles aren’t your thing). ♥
