Another Christmas has come and gone. I hope your day was wonderful. ♥ As you start to pack away your Christmas products (only after you make all of your thank you notes), it’s time to turn our focus to Spring and Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 offerings. Regardless of whether you have snow on the ground, I know it’s really cold where you are – no better time to dream of Spring. What fun!
Here is the front cover of Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog:
The purple-filled cover of the Mini Catalog takes us back to the 1980’s (in my mind). The purples are a perfect backdrop for the soft flowers showcased in the two cards on the catalog’s cover. Today I’m going to break down the products used to make the gorgeous cards at the center of the catalog cover and some of the coordinating items that are sure to be on your wish list.
Congratulations
Here’s a closeup of the first card on the front cover of the upcoming catalog:
While the card features a very simple layout, there are many steps to build the simple look. Let’s start with the two bundles used to create the card – the Two-Tone Flora Bundle (page 16 of the new catalog) and the Sentimental Park Bundle (page 33 of the new catalog). Here’s a look at the Two-Tone Flora Bundle:
And here’s a look at the Sentimental Park Bundle:
The octagons that build the background on the card are cropped with the bottom die in the Sentimental Park Bundle above. The artist then cropped the panel of flowers from Two-Tone Flora Dies (with Adhesive Sheets on the back of the paper) and snipped around the edges. The detailed cutouts give a gorgeous texture to the octagons.
The soft colors that build the flower are gorgeous against the all-white background on this card. If you like this mix of Soft Succulent, Fresh Freesia and Orchid Oasis as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
The flower stem is cropped from Soft Succulent cardstock with the Sentimental Park Dies. The flower is stamped and cropped with the Two-Tone Flora Bundle. The sentiment on the set is pulled from the Sentimental Park stamp set. The card is accented with Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems (page 13 of the new catalog).
You Matter to So Many
Here’s a closeup of the second card on the front cover of the upcoming catalog:
Like the first card, this square card showcases the gorgeous, detailed die from the Two-Tone Flora Bundle. While the die is PERFECT for the base of a card, these two projects show how it can be used in different ways.
The front panel of this Fresh Freesia card base is covered with a gorgeous page of the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (page 15 of the new catalog). There are so many gorgeous colors and patterns in this pack of papers – it’s certain to be included in your first order. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Fancy Flora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
The sentiment on the card is pulled from the Something Fancy stamp set, part of the Something Fancy Bundle (page 15 of the new catalog). I LOOOVE the sentiments in this set and will be using them often on my blog. Here’s a look at this bundle:
The sentiment is heat-embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy cardstock. While there are some great dies to crop the Something Fancy sentiments in the Something Fancy Bundle (page 53 of the new catalog), the sentiment is cropped with the Happy Labels Pick-a-Punch. Here’s a look at this bundle:

Brian, guess what…I didn’t order the fancy flora bundle yet. I think it’s beautiful, but I told myself I needed to use up more of some of the Hues of Happiness paper first. It was hard to pass up because I love the colors. I couldn’t completely stay away from florals- Sentimental Park was part of my 1st order from the new catalog. I haven’t broke out the new products just yet, but plan to later this week. Have a few Christmas thank you cards to finish first and a deep clean of my craft room. Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for the detailed exploration of the new catalog’s cover. It proves what an incredible design resource our catalogs ARE, but it takes a truly creative sleuth to parse the details! Thank heavens we have you!!!
