Rainy Days are Better with You

Sometimes I get it wrong. The cute animals and brights papers in the Rain or Shine Suite were not on “my A list” of products from Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. There wasn’t anything I disliked about the cute characters and seasonal patterns in the coordinating papers, but I wasn’t exactly sold on the products. Since I started playing, though, I haven’t been able to stop. I have so many new products to play with, but here’s the FOURTH card I’ve made with characters from this suite:

The adorable, umbrella-toting fox at the center of my card is pulled right from the pages of the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper and cropped with the Playing in the Rain Dies. The Mango Melody coat and Flirty Flamingo umbrella helped me to choose coordinating colors for my card. Here’s a closer look:

The fox was cropped from the first page in the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper (shown below), and the bright-and-cheery rain drops were pulled from the sixth pattern (shown below):

The fox is showcased on a Mango Melody 3″ x 4″ card from the Enjoy the Adventure Memories & More Cards. There are some really great cards in this set with a great collection of colors and sentiments. Here’s a look at these cards:

You may have noticed that my card doesn’t open up at the card base. Instead, the focal image panel opens up. Here are the measurements for the layers I used on this card (starting with the base and working up to the fun character):

• Mango Melody – 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
• Flirty Flamingo – 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
• Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper – 3-3/4″ x 5″
• Mango Melody – 6-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ scored at 3-1/4″
• Flirty Flamingo – 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
• Enjoy the Adventure Memories & More Card (3″ x 4″)
• Stampin’ Dimensionals
• Basic White – cropped and glued to DSP layer to provide extra support
• Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper – cropped with Playing in the Rain Dies

I added three Mango Melody Adhesive-Backed Milky Dots around the sentiment – what a great accent to all of the sweet elements of this card!

Don’t forget the envelope! I added a strip of the Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody raindrops to the flap of the envelope to add a fun, coordinating element to my card.
