Big Thanks with Layered Stripes

During the early days of my love affair with Stampin’ Up!’s colors, I was dedicated to the family of bold and bright colors – the brighter, the better. I had birthday cards, thank you cards and congratulations cards in mind so I always reached for the uplifting, bright tones in the color family at that time. Over the years, I’ve bounced back-and-forth between all of the color families – sometimes I want warm tones, and sometimes I want soft tones. Today’s card reaches back to the bright tones I first fell in love with. Here’s my bold thank you card:

My card features two stamps I love so much. The sentiment is from the Big Hooray stamp set, and the background is from the Layered Stripes background stamp. Here’s a look at the Big Hooray stamp set:

Layered Stripes, Stampin Up! 160515This fun background stamp is bold and busy in Granny Apple Green against a Basic White panel. It would also be effective (and less bold) if stamped with Granny Apple Green on a Granny Apple Green panel. There are a million ways to showcase this striped pattern – that makes it so fun!

I stamped the sentiment on my card with Bermuda Bay and tucked a little Daffodil Delight panel behind it to pull in a third color. If you like this mix of Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Bermuda Bay as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:

  3. Very cool background and yes, bright!

  4. The striped background stamp looks exactly like something YOU would construct either out of DSP panels or by positioning and repositioning a stamp with a section of stipes over and over. Love it! Modern but at the same time, retro. <3

  5. What a fun card today and love the colors you chose! Simple, clean, and certain to bring a smile. Great inspiration !
