Be Jolly with Stampin’ Up!’s So Very Merry

“There’s something I like about this new Stampin’ Up! product, but I’m not sure I’ll use it. I don’t need it. BUT … I want it.” [clicks ADD TO CART and checks out]. That sounds familiar, right? When I placed my order for the amazing products in Stampin’ Up!’s Online Exclusives, I wasn’t 100% set on the So Very Merry stamp set but added it to my order anyway. Once it arrived, I fell in love. I’ve used it A LOT and have loved everything I’ve made with it. I’m so happy I hit ADD TO CART and proceeded to check out with that order. Here’s a card I made with the Santa Claus stain glass design from the So Very Merry stamp set:

Here’s a look at the So Very Merry stamp set, available in the Online Exclusives:

So Very Merry, Stampin Up! 162345I stamped the stain glass circle with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Thick Basic White and cropped it with my 2-3/8″ Circle Punch. I colored the image with a mix of Balmy Blue, Real Red, Pecan Pie and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. It’s such a pretty image of a jolly elf! Here’s a closer look at some of my coloring:

Below the colored, cropped and popped-up image is a piece of Designer Series Paper that I die-cut with the Labels Aglow Dies and mounted on a piece of Balmy Blue to give a magical burst of light from behind the jolly elf. The panel of Navy Blue Designer Series Paper below him is from the new Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in this new pack of sweet and beautiful papers:

Beary Christmas Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up! 162015I intended to showcase the snowflake pattern (in the top, right corner) behind Santa. When I thought to add the Labels Aglow die behind him, I used the backside of that panel (the gorgeous sky above the polar bears in the fifth pattern along the top row). Such a beautiful texture for the panel!

I stamped “BE JOLLY” from the Celebrate with Tags stamp set in Real Red and snipped the sentiment and added to the card.

With the Real Red in Santa’s suit and the Real Red in the sentiment, it only made sense for me to add another thin layer of Real Red around the focal panel. This color combination is perfect for a patriotic project, but it also works well for Christmas. If you love this mix of Real Red, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
