Paper Pumpkin Alternative – Meaningful Flowers

I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers last weekend. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. Sometimes we rush through our projects and then just chat for the rest of the time.

Pumpkin in the Fungeon, Brian KingToday I’m sharing two alternative projects I shared with August’s Meaningful Flowers Kit – a gorgeous collection of beautiful flowers with the meaning behind each flower inscribed on the back of each card. The cards feature a fun fold and vellum elements. Before I share one of my alternative projects, here’s a look at the finished projects (as designed) from the August 2023 Paper Pumpkin kit:

Alternative Projects

As always, I designed some projects to share with my customers during our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call – and as always, I loved all the cards my customers shared on the call. Today I’m sharing two of my alternative projects with you. Here are the two projects I’m sharing with you today:

Sending Sunshine

I love the fold of the forget-me-not flowers card, and I love the colors and design of the panels. I cropped the inside panel of the prepared cards (I cut it to 3-1/4″ x 5″ for a thin, long panel) and framed it with Tahitian Tide and Lemon Lolly and then mounted it on a 3-3/4″ x 11 (scored at 5-1/2″) piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock. Here’s my card:

With Tahitian Tide ink, I added “Sending sunshine and good feelings your way” from the Good Feelings stamp set, available in Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 Annual Catalog. How perfect is this sentiment for this backdrop? Here’s a look at the stamp set:

Capable of Amazing Things

The second card I’m sharing features elements from the second card in the kit. Instead of using the vellum panel that’s part of the design of this card in the kit, I cut the background panel into 7/8″ strips and positioned them on a Pretty Peacock card base. I stamped the sentiment “You are capable of amazing things” with Pretty Peacock ink on the lily pad and popped up the image over the background strips. Here’s the card:
