Happy 50th Anniversary with Dainty Delight

Over the weekend, I traveled to Mom’s house in Fountain Inn, South Carolina (a small town just south of Greenville). While a short visit is always fun with Mom, we were also in Fountain Inn to attend the 50th wedding anniversary party of my little brother’s in-laws. Over the years, we’ve shared many holidays and special occasions with Ward and Starr. It was great to be there to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with them – they know how to throw a party! Bistro lights, a live band and food for days.

Before I left Atlanta to travel to Fountain Inn, I made a sweet card to share with Ward and Starr. Here’s the card I made:

Dainty Delights, Alphabet a la Mode Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingDainty Delight was a super-popular bundle when Stampin’ Up!’s 2023 Spring Mini Catalog launched earlier this year. If I remember correctly, the bundle went into backorder twice. I was so happy to see the stamp set and coordinating dies make it into the Annual Catalog (they are now sold separately but not as a bundle) – they are still popular with customers. These flowers were perfect for a sweet card.

The numbers on my card are cropped with the Alphabet a la Mode Dies. Before cropping the numbers, I layered a piece of Thick Very Vanilla cardstock with an Adhesive Sheet so I wouldn’t have to add glue to the back of these thing dies. With a pair of tweezers, I added each number to the card. Here’s a look at the Alphabet a la Mode Dies:

Alphabet A La Mode Dies, Stampin Up! 160750 I stamped the flowers with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Thick Very Vanilla and colored them with a mix of soft, sweet Stampin’ Blends. I used Soft Sea Foam, Fresh Freesia, Lemon Lolly, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Petal Pink. I popped up the flowers with Mini Stampin’ Blends. Here’s a closer look:

Dainty Delights, Alphabet a la Mode Dies, Stampin Up!, Brian KingI mounted the flowers on a Pretty Peacock paper from the Garden Walk 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and added three Crumb Cake Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots. All of that is mounted on a Crumb Cake base and a Crumb Cake panel that’s texture-embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. I didn’t grab a photo of the inside of the card, but I stamped “So Happy to Celebrate You” in Pretty Peacock from the Layering Leaves stamp set.
