It’s been a busy couple of weeks. With all the exciting products and announcements I’ve shared, I have yet to share with you the birthday card I made for my Mom. Her birthday is January 10 (same day every year). She was here for two weeks after Christmas, and we drove her home on January 6. While we weren’t with Mom ON her birthday, we celebrated it several times with gifts and dinners and dessert several times during her stay. My brother’s family took her out for her birthday, so she was with family on her special day. Here’s the simple, sweet card I made for her:
Mom likes blue flowers, so I knew I’d be pulling a page or two from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper for her card this year. While there are several pages with birds on them (and they are great!), I wanted to accent my card with a butterfly. I reached for one of the Paper Butterfly Accents, new in Stampin’ Up!’s January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. The pack includes 40 delicate butterflies – definitely a great deal! There are so many ways to add color to the wings of these butterflies – I blended a little color into the wings with Boho Blue and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. So easy – and such a great result. Here’s a closer look:
I punched a 2-3/8″ Circle of watercolored Boho Blue paper from the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper and mounted it on another panel to give it the firmness it needs to be popped up. The sentiment is from the Throughout the Year stamp set (now part of the Online Exclusives) and cropped with the Perennial Postage Dies. I accented the card with Boho Blue 2023-2025 In Color Dots.
