I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. Sometimes we rush through our projects and then just chat for the rest of the time. We, of course, talked about the new catalog and Sale-a-Bration products, too. What fun!
Today I’m sharing one of the alternative designs I shared with January’s Lovely Lavender Kit, a sweet collection of purple projects with sweet, lavender designs. Before I share my alternative project, here’s a look at the finished projects (as designed) from the January 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit:
Here’s a look at all the goodies that came in this kit, which also included a Gorgeous Grape Stampin’ Spot and a stamp set:
Here’s a closer look at the coordinating stamp set that came with the January kit:
While the full kit is no longer available, the refills are available to subscribers in the online store while supplies last. You can see it here.
Alternative Project
While I made several projects to share with the group, I am sharing one with you today. It has several “sharable” elements, and I had fun making it. Here’s the card I made, along with the coordinating envelope:
The focal panel on my card sits on a Crumb Cake base with thin Crumb Cake and thin Basic White border around it. The Paper Pumpkin kit includes a cardfront panel that’s filled with beautiful flowers. The punched out is used to make a tag, and the remaining cutout is used for one of the card designs. Rather than remove the panel, I punched it out and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I trimmed down the focal layer to 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″, leaving the punched out, popped up piece a little off-center. Here’s a closer look:
The kit includes some delicate, green leaves. flipped my leaves over and used a Blending Brush to add a little Crumb Cake to the leaves. I positioned the leaves on the front panel to cover the hole at the top that identifies the piece as a tag. Here’s a look:
I added a white border to the soft purple punch-out and layered the word “love” over it. Finally, I added three Fine Purple Gems as an accent on the card.

The elements of this kit coordinate beautifully with the products in the Perennial Lavender Suite Collection in Stampin’ Up!’s January – April 2024 Mini Catalog. All of these products are currently available – click on the image below to learn more or place an order:

Your alternative card is phenomenal! Just love the leaves turned over and touched up while being strategically placed to hide the hole. Would never have thought to put crumb cake with the lavender. You always give me something to ponder and explore. Thank You!
Beautiful alternative!
Your card is very clever and pretty! I love the idea of coloring the foliage on its white side. This kit is wonderful! Enjoy your week!
Another fabulous card!
