I hosted my monthly Zoom call with my Paper Pumpkin customers yesterday. During our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call, I share some fun ideas with the items included in the monthly kit, and my customers share their brilliant ideas. I’m always impressed by what others are making and love to spend that time with my customers who participate. Sometimes we rush through our projects and then just chat for the rest of the time. We, of course, talked about the upcoming catalog and the new In Colors. What fun!
Today I’m sharing two cards I shared with April’s kit, a or gorgeous butterflies designed with rich, beautiful colors. Before I share my alternative projects, here’s a look at the finished projects (as designed) from the April 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit:
This kit includes the makings for 9 cards (three each of three designs), including the stamp set and an ink spot. While the full kits have sold out, refills (without the stamp sets and ink spot) are available to Paper Pumpkin subscribers. Here’s a look at the kit refill (click on the image below to open in my online store):
How gorgeous are those elements?! Here’s a look at the coordinating stamp set that came with the April kit:
Alternative Projects
While the projects (as-designed) are pretty great, I love making alternative projects with the supplies that come with the Paper Pumpkin kits. Here are two alternative projects I made to share with my group on our Pumpkin in the Fungeon call:
I’m going to share a closer look at both of these projects with you today.
Happy Mother’s Day
Two of the card bases in this kit feature Champagne Foil butterflies – one card base is Basic Gray, and one card base is Lost Lagoon. Since the patterns are the same, I stacked the two pieces and cut the designs at 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then cut that into one-inch strips. I pieced them together to make this card:
The sentiment and postage square are pulled from the Perennial Postage Bundle in the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog. The Perennial Postage Dies carry forward into Stampin’ Up!’s 2024 Annual Catalog, but the stamp set retires on April 30 (or when supplies run out). For the time being, you can purchase both together with a 10% discount. Here’s a look:
I added three butterflies as a sweet accent on the special card.
Surrounding You with Love
With the other side of the card base I cropped for the first project, I created a background for another card. I mounted the Lost Lagoon panel on Pretty Peacock – they are analogous colors that look great together. Here’s the card:
I stamped the gorgeous sentiment with the stamp set that came with the Paper Pumpkin kit, added the trio of butterflies and then accented them with Pretty Peacock Gold Foil Gems.
May’s Paper Pumpkin
May’s The Best There Is kit features projects to express gratitude and admiration for Dad. The Father’s Day kit makes 9 cards (3 each of 3 designs) with coordinating envelopes. Here’s a sneak peek a this month’s kit:
Coordinating Stampin’ Up! colors: Wild Wheat, Pool Party, Misty Moonlight, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Basic Beige
