Brian’s Week in Review: September 1, 2024

Brian's Week in ReviewI’ve been a busy bee this week – I’m preparing swatch book covers and getting the Fungeon (that’s my craft room name) ready to receive all the share products I’ll order on Wednesday. I’m also sorting through retired stamp sets, dies and punches to load them in my Retired Products Store. Last week I told you I’d likely get there this week, but I’m going to need a little more time with this. I’ll continue to chip away at it – and you’ll be the first to know when they are loaded. ♥

I want to give a quick rundown of the week (for those who don’t follow me every day) and a little extra background (for those who already tune in every day).

Monday

On Monday, I was excited to launch the next Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit from Emma Goddard and me. Emma is a talented artist from the UK – I’ve never seen an Emma card I didn’t love. We paired up to create a kit several years ago (we send you everything you need to make the projects, along with printed instructions and a video walkthrough) – it’s always great fun!

This month’s kit features a brand new bundle from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalog – you are going to LOVE the Regal Flora Bundle and coordinating Regal Winter Designer Series Paper.

Tuesday

On Day Five of the 2024 Summer One-for-One Card Swap, I shared 13 gorgeous cards. I adore every card in the card swap (some real beauties in there!), but I really love the little scene Kathy Heidt created on her card (everything is in the bottom, right corner – and it works!). Here’s Kathy’s great card:

Wednesday

On the last Wednesday of every month, I participate in a blog hop with the Be Inspired Design Team. I’m honored to be included with these talented stampers and feel challenged to create a project that stands up to the talent in the group. The theme for this week was “Taking Flight” – here’s my trio of cards:

Sketched Butterflies, Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper, Stampin Up!, Brian King

Thursday

I don’t make a lot of “fun fold” cards for my blog – they are not my forte and are also such a challenge to photograph. I have consistently incorporated some fun folds into our Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit projects – and I always love to share the fun folds from the card swaps. On Thursday, I shared five fun folds from the swap.

The fun fold on Brenda Sprenger’s sweet card works so well to showcase the Lily Pond Lane 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Here’s the front of Brenda’s adorable card:

Friday

After seven days of the Summer One-for-One Swaps, the parade of cards wrapped up on Friday with a post dedicated to a gorgeous card by Lisa Neil:

Saturday

Every once in a while, I have to take a break from the daily inspiration to make sure you’ve paid attention to all of the promotions I’ve been telling you about. I shared the promotions that were ending (they are gone, so I won’t talk about them anymore) and gave you another opportunity to sign up for my Product Shares and Super-Awesome Fun Time Card Kit (there’s still time!).

The most exciting thing about yesterday’s post, though, was that I could share the new Scrapbooking Brochure, a supplement to the Holiday Mini Catalog that goes live this Wednesday, September 4 (the brochure is live the same day).

Coming This Week

I hosted my Pumpkin in the Fungeon call yesterday (a monthly Zoom call centered around the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit) – I always enjoy hanging out with this group. Tomorrow I’ll share the alternative projects I made with this month’s kit.

Speaking of people I love to hang out with…my incredible friend, Louise Sharp, is flying into Atlanta on Friday to hang out with us for a week-and-a-half. I met Louise through Stampin’ Up! (she’s was an Artisan designer several years ago) 13 years ago and have Facetimed with her for years since. I’ve watched her kids grow up and become incredibly sweet, functioning adults. I’ve not seen Louise in many years, so I’m STOKED about her pending visit.

Brian King and Louise Sharp, Stampin' Up!I’m sure I’ll have lots of pictures and stories to share in the coming weeks. How fun!

Oh! Also the 2024 Holiday Mini Catalog launches on Wednesday. It’s sure to be a busy, busy week – and I can’t wait.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Brian
