It’s rare for me to create an all-brown card. It’s even rarer for me to create an all-brown card for Christmas. The GORGEOUS page of snowflakes in the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper, new in Stampin’ Up!’s 2024 Holiday Catalog, begged me to build a card around it. Here’s the card I made:
The Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper features SO MANY great pages of traditional images, but I couldn’t wait to cut into this snowflake page. Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper:
The sentiment on my card is stamped with Pecan Pie using the Christmas Labels stamp set and cropped with one of the fun shapes in the coordinating dies. I stamped the sentiment and cropped it with the scalloped die – and then trimmed away at the edges to trim down the sentiment. I cropped a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock with the same die to create the base for the sentiment. Here’s a look at the Christmas Labels Bundle:
Here’s a closer look at the sentiment on my card:
The cropped sentiment is approximately 1-1/4″ tall, so I cut a 1-1/4″ band of the Pecan Pie pattern in the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper to layer behind it. I positioned the sentiment on the label and then positioned the label over the band before gluing the band to the snowflake page. That allowed me to position the band perfectly on the card front so the sentiment was straight up-and-down.
I love the mix of patterns in the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (but I admit that I often reach for this plaid pattern). Here’s a look at the colors and patterns in the Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper:
I added three Pecan Pie Clear Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots to my card to frame the sentiment label and add a little more brown to the card (and a little more shine).
