Getting the Most out of Your Everyday Arches Dies

Over the past week, I’ve shared a few projects I’ve made with the Everyday Arches Bundle, part of a suite collection that’s included in the January Online Exclusives launch. I love the bundle (and especially the dies) and am so inspired by the fun shapes, so it’s easy for me to play with it and make projects I love. Today I’m sharing a look back at some of those projects, but the point of today’s post is to show a variety of ways you can showcase the Everyday Arches Dies and some tips to get the most out of them.

Before I share tips for working with these dies, here’s a look at the Everyday Arches Bundle:

Here are some great ways to use the dies and some unique ideas for showcasing them:

  • Just showcase the dies. The dies offer a universal shape, and the sentiments in the stamp set fit right inside (or outside) the arches in these dies. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel for great ways to showcase the dies – they are perfect on their own. Here’s a look at the tags I made with the Everyday Arches, leaning into how the shape looks like a beehive, and the Spring is in the Air Paper Pumpkin Dies: Spring is in the Air Dies, Everyday Arches Dies, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Imbed the dies to create arches. Layering the dies inside one another while passing them through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine yields arches that can easily be layered to build a rainbow. Here’s the card I shared on Monday: Everyday Arches Bundle, Stampin Up!, Brian KingWhile you can easily build ONE arch by layering two dies together, you may want to plan ahead if you want to layer multiple arches to create a rainbow (like my project above). To ensure the layers were consistent between the layers of my rainbow, I used Post-It Tape to bind the dies together before cutting them out. That gave me a consistent cut for each of the layers. Here’s a look: Creating a rainbow with Everyday Arches DiesAnd don’t forget – when building a rainbow, you’ll need that inside arch die to crop out the center.
  • Cut away at the imbedded dies. If you’ve been following my blog this week, then you already knew what the third method way – with some of the leftovers from the cropped out layers above, you can cut away at the arches to create other images, like an “I” or a “U” like I did in this card: Valentine's Day Card with Hearts of Elegance and Everyday Arches, Stampin Up!, Brian KingHere’s a closer look at the I: I with Everyday Arches, Stampin Up!, Brian KingAnd here’s a closer look at the U: U with Everyday Arches, Stampin Up!, Brian KingThe “U” can also be used with other sentiments like “thank U” or “miss U” or “U rock”.
  • Showcase a sentiment inside the arch. The arches can be effectively used to showcase sentiments like the one in this sample project in the new catalog: Everyday Arches sentiment, sample from Stampin' Up!
  • Other ideas. While I don’t have samples to share, here are some other fun ways to showcase the arched shape in these Everyday Arches Dies – use them for a snow globe, a cloche (maybe to house a cupcake?) or a spooky tombstone. I’m sure you have other ideas because these dies are incredible!

If you have these incredible dies, I hope these ideas have inspired you to use them in creative ways. If you haven’t yet picked up the Everyday Arches Bundle and/or coordinating Everyday Arches Dies, I hope you’ll take another look – and maybe pick them up today.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Brian
