Happy [Purple] Birthday, My Friend

The card I’m sharing today hasn’t yet made its way to the intended birthday girl yet, but that won’t stop me from sharing the very special birthday card for my friend Windy Ellard. At first glance, you might guess that Windy loves purple – and you would be right! Every time I reach for any of the purple colors in our lineup, I immediately think of Windy. Here’s the card I made to celebrate Windy’s special day:

The panel of Fresh Freesia stripes on my Blackberry Bliss card base are pulled from the Toadstool Gardens 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The 3-1/2″ square at the center of Windy’s card is pulled from one of the large cards in the Thoughtful Journey Memories & More Cards. I was all set to showcase a soft water colored design from one of the cards, but this Blackberry Bliss panel added a modern and (still purple) appeal to my card. There are some beautiful designs in this set of cards.

I could host a parade with all of the cards I’ve made with the Wanted to Say Dies. I suspected it when they would be versatile and fun were first introduced, but they have really come through for me. What a great collection of sentiments!

While the striped paper (a Sale-a-Bration favorite) sets the foundation for this card, I added two more Sale-a-Bration goodies to complete the purple-ness of it all – the Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbon and Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins. They really add a special shine and texture!

Just look at the big, beautiful, purple bow!
