It’s time for another Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop – what fun! The Be Inspired Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from all over the world who are excited to share our themed projects with you. I’m so honored to be a part of this group of talented stampers!
For today’s Be Inspired Blog Hop, we are sharing projects we’ve created with inspiration from Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs (we are “CASEing the Catalogs”). When we CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit), we find inspiration in a project – theme, color combinations, layout, products used – and create our own project by making changes to make it our own. When CASEing, it’s important to give credit to the original designer – it doesn’t take away from your project at all. We hope our projects inspire you and that you leave with lots of fun ideas! If you aren’t starting the hop here, then you probably just popped over from the project shared by my talented friend Carolynn Sander.
You’re So Hip
With inspiration from the cover of the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, I had a ball created my fun card with two Sale-a-Bration products – the Hippest Hippos stamp set and coordinating Hippo Dies. With a little water coloring and some die-cutting, I built a scene with my sweet hippos. Here’s my card:
She’s the star of the show, but her admirers tell quite a story! Each character is stamped on Fluid 100 paper with StazOn ink and watercolored with Smoky Slate. Each of the trio features fun elements from the coordinating Hippo Dies and a little touch of Petal Pink.
The hippos and sentiment are from Hippest Hippos, a Sale-a-Bration stamp set, and the glasses, heart, umbrella, flower and stage (an upside-down bucket) are from the coordinating Hippo Dies. Each of these items can be selected with a $50 purchase during July and August (you can get both with a $100 order). Here’s a look at these items:
The coordinating dies offer cutouts for each of the hippos and LOTS of accessories (including a boat, a bucket, snorkel, diving mask, inner tube and more. Here’s a look at the dies and cutouts of each:
My inspiration for this card might not have been obvious, but my hippo card was CASE’d from the card on the front cover of Stampin’ Up!’s July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. Here’s a look at the inspiration:
Do you see the similarities? Not only did I create a card with three images, but I framed the images and even added a little accent band (the card on the cover uses a gold glimmer paper band, while I added a panel of Neutrals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper behind my frame.
My hippos are staged inside a frame from the Fabulous Frames Dies, one of the stand-alone set of dies in the 2022 Annual Catalog. Here’s a look at these frames:
The mix of grays with the sweet pink and soft blue make for a fun combination. If you like this mix of Petal Pink, Pool Party, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray as much as I do, I hope you’ll save this for future reference:
