Betsy’s Blossoms Birthday (by Brian)

Why am I so obsessed with Betsy’s Blossoms?! My stamping friends and dedicated blog readers know that could not accept this stamp set at first. I didn’t like it, and I didn’t want it. That’s when I challenged myself to make something lovely with the set. That worked, so I challenged myself to ANOTHER project. Then another. While working on project after project with this set (still trying to meet my self-imposed challenge), I might…

Betsy’s Blossoms – a Masculine card

After a workshop this past weekend where we punched the Betsy’s Blossoms flower with the large scallop circle, I thought it would be really cool to “masculinize” the floral design by punching it in dark colors with the square punch or the scallop square punch.  I pictured navy’s and browns. PPA137 – Celebrate America

My mind started racing when I first saw that the Pals Paper Arts challenge was red, white and blue: What patriotic stamp sets do I have? Do I HAVE to stick with an American theme? PPA137 – Betsy’s Blossoms Thank You

This card is created from another challenge. My card structure is based on a layout by Margaret Moody and posted to Pals Paper Arts. Here’s her sketch: And here’s my card: Using my Stamp-a-Majig, I captured black-and-white images on the outside of the center piece and bright, bold colors on the inside. This effect, along with the large color blocks on top of the card, really draws your attention to the bold colors of the…

MOJO242 – Betsy’s Blossoms

I’ve been checking out the Mojo Mondays sketch challenges for a while and finally decided to give one a try. The blog creator designs a card face layout, and participants select their own colors and stamps to complement the design. Here’s this week’s layout: And here’s my card: In addition to creating a card with the layout design, I challenged myself to create a card with just two colors. As much as I wanted to…

A Mixed Bunch of Betsy’s Kisses

Today, I challenged myself to use Betsy’s Blossoms in a cool, unique way. This stamp set, debuting in the 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog, features a cool bird, some small flowers, some leaves and an oversized, detailed flower. The flower makes a great feature image on a card or is perfect for a background cover. After playing around with the flower and punching it in various fashions (I had all my punches laid out on…
