It’s time for another Mojo Monday Layout Challenge. I love these challenges as they get me using stamp sets I don’t, otherwise, often use. This layout comes from Julee Tillman:

This layout contains a lot of shapes and sizes. It would be easy to make a card really busy. I logged into the site first thing Monday to see the layout and spent the rest of the day thinking of how my card would look. Would I use many colors, or would I go monochromatic? What sentiments would I create? Should I make a holiday card? The card I ended up making isn’t the card I dreamed up during the day, but I like the outcome. So I didn’t follow the layout exactly, but this card is definitely inspired by the layout:
- Snip it! It’s fun to water color or color shade large, solid images like the ones found in Easy Events. It’s just as fun (and dramatic) to stamp off on several pieces of scrap paper and snip the pieces together. It’s tedious, but it can have a wow result.
- Make your own design. This image of the duck, the sentiment and the umbrella could all fit inside the circle punch. I chose to “cut off” the umbrella from the central circle so that the snipped image would be nicely set off the circle.
Stamp set: Easy Events Papers: Very Vanilla, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack Ink: Basic Black Accessories: 1-3/8″ and 1-3/4″ Circle Punches, 2-3/8″ and 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle Punches, Itty Bitty Banners Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

I love your card, any new mum would be thrilled to get this!
Thank you, Marlene! I appreciate your feedback!
What a caauuute baby card, Brian! I love the way you left the umbrella pop out of the circle! And adore your layout!
Hugz2u!!
As always…thanks, Sharon! I was so proud of myself for punching out the umbrella. It’s so simple but probably my favorite thing about this card. I’ve had this stamp set since April and have only used it once. More to come, I’m sure! 🙂
Must. Go. Copy. Card. Now.
Love bb and ss color combo. Guess it would also work well with pink pirouette for a girl, you think? I’ll try it.
Love, love, love it! Thanks for sharing.

I think this would be lovely in pink, too! Because the design layout was so intricate, I decided to stay with all very light papers. If you make it in pink, please share with me. I would love to see a CASE. 🙂
WHAT A CUTE CARD!!! I just LOVE the cute baby duck and the color combo is FANTASTIC! I love the way you paper-pieced the duck!!
Thanks, Carol! I appreciate the feedback. This was a fun challenge!
My first time here, Brian. This card is darling!
Bernadete, Thank you for your kind comment! Please come back. I am having so much fun sharing my ideas with others. What a blast!
Cute! – Cute! – Cute! Love everything about this card – cute images, love all of the layers (but it is still “clean”) – and the color combo is yummy!!!! Popping that umbrella put the icing on the cake!!
Oh, Barb! I think I might have to keep you around. You are always so kind and complimentary. It’s so nice to see when you’ve left a comment. Thank you!
Hi Brian,
I ♥ the simplicity of your card, everything about it just sings. Will be a treasure to tuck in someone’s lucky baby’s keepsake album.
Blessings,
Barb
Thanks, Barb! Your compliment thrills me. I hope you’ll come back!
