Have Yourself a Clean and Simple Christmas

Sometimes, simple is just better. There’s no need to “fuss up” a card when the paper can do all the talking for you. Today, I wish you a clean and simple Christmas.

When I first opened up my pack of Merry Moments Simply Scrappin’ kit, I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous, striped Designer Series Paper included in the kit.  Trim out a piece, slap that bad boy on a piece of card stock, and you’ve got yourself a perfect holiday greeting:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders:

• Creating texture. To add a little “something special” to the Cherry Cobbler band across the middle of the card, I scored three lines on the cardstock with my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Centered on the band, the score lines make for a perfect landing pad for the greeting. Play with the scored lines to detrermine whether you like them best inverted (like shown) or embossed outward (the flip side of the band). I like the inverted look.
• Stamp-a-ma-jig 101. To create the greeting, I had to combine the polka dot border from Four Frames and the small sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly line up these two images. After stamping the border and lining up the sentiment several times with my Stamp-a-ma-jig, I realized I was making it hard on myself. That’s when I had a “duh!” moment.  Because you have to line up one of the images against the Stamp-a-ma-jig, it is way more difficult to press the smaller block against the tool (it tends to roll or bounce).  I found it MUCH EASIER to (1) stamp the smaller image and (2) use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the larger one. You’re able to get a better grip on the larger blocks, so they work better when paired with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. Duh!  You’re welcome!
