After a seven year hiatus from crafting, I knew I wanted to get back into stamping in March of this past year. I called and emailed several Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in the Atlanta area, but got no calls back. Pam was next on my list, and she returned my email almost immediately. We chatted for over an hour and met soon after. I never heard back from the others, but I am totally fine with that now because they pushed me to Pam.
I get off work every day at 4:00 and have a short commute home. The first thing I do when I get in my car (after I put on my seatbelt and start the car, of course) is dial up Pam. She gives me an enjoyable conversation home every day. We talk about Stampin’ Up! promotions, ideas we have for cards and workshops, and comments you’ve made on my blog (incidentally, I always appreciate your kind words). We also talk about what’s going on in our personal lives. For Pam, a proud Mama of three boys and a flight attendant, that “personal life” topic always has something to do with her cool family or the wonderful city she’s visiting. For me (sadly), that “personal life” topic is usually something to do with stamping.
All that, and I just about forgot the reason we are here today. Cards. Stamping. Project. Oh, yes! So, today is Pam’s birthday. I’m not really sure which one it is – we aren’t THAT close. 🙂 I’ve thought long and hard about this birthday card for Pam to make it as close to her style as possible. Pam likes uber-clean and uber-simple. She loves lots of white or just a touch of pale color. And, the woman loves some birds. Here’s the card I made for her:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders:
- Use your Stampin’ Write Markers. We often use our markers to color stamps or fill in images with the brush tip, but don’t forget that your Stampin’ Write Markers also have a fine tip that is perfect for writing your sentiment on the inside of the card or addressing the envelope. You can’t see it here, but I wrote my birthday wishes on the inside of the card with a marker. Just pretend you see it, please.
- Change up your color patterns. Yes, this is coming from Mr. Baja Breeze himself, so laugh all you want. I’ve been playing with new colors recently, and I’m having fun with it. It was a challenge to make this card so monochromatic, and I’m so happy with the finished product.

Happy Birthday, Pam! Beautiful card, as always, Brian! Just as beautiful is your love of stamping, your enthusiasm, and your wonderful friendship with Pam. You are one lucky dude! Wish I lived closer to you so I could stamp with you.
Thank you so much for all my birthday wishes everybody! I am so incredibly blessed. My card is even more gorgeous in real life. I have to say though that as beautiful as it is on the outside, it was what is written on the inside that really makes it even more so. Brian, you are a true friend and I love you to pieces. Thank you for today’s post. It made my day!
How wonderful and refreshing it is…to see two friends love each other so much! I would die without my friends and Pam and Brian, you are both very lucky. Happy Birthday Pam! May you have many more wonderful years. And Brian, you a truly a wonderful, warm, kind, generous (you can say stop at anytime now)… person. I am so happy I found you through Mary Fish. I look forward to your early morning post every day. It starts my day off…”just right”. Hugs to everyone!
