Luggage Tags

I am out of town this weekend in Wisconsin for a stamping business retreat. While I’m not so thrilled about the cold, I am so happy to meet and hang out with a group of people I’ve known online for some time. Among others, I get to meet Mary Fish and hang out with her. You know her, right?

A while back, my boss made some adorable embroidered pouches for Mary using Summer Smooches fabric. For this weekend’s trip, Laura offered to make some luggage tags for all the participants in the retreat. She used some of the leftover Summer Smooches fabric and some Floral District fabric. They are adorable, so I wanted to share them with you:20121030-214232.jpg

What do you think? I hope the participants like them.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  1. Oh WOW!! you got to hang out with Mary Fish?? Lucky you, Brian. Unfortunately for me, I never got to meet Mary in person. She moved to Tucson, AZ. some years ago. I bet she is sweet as pie, she is my SU demonstrator and a dear friend.
Those luggage tags are amazing, I would be afraid to acctually put them in my luggage because I’ve seen how they treat the suitcases at airports, sheeesh!!
I have NO sewing ability what so ever, I mean I can sew a button but that’s it. This tags really are beautiful and your boss Laura did a fabulous job sewing them. I’m sure everybody will absolutely love them. Thank you for sharing them.

    • Yes. The whole group here is so much fun! People used the tags on their water bottles and wine glasses to identify their drinks. So cute!

      • LOL, Brian, those were some cute immediate ways to show them off! And show Laura how much they loved them! She’s a real sewing talent! Tell Mary I said “hi” – she was trying to recruit me, too, and I went with you…oopsies, Mary, sorry!
Have a wonderful time up there!

  2. What cuties these are !! I think I`d be tempted to use them as necklaces in the summer … so original .. you are so talented ,Laura . Have oodles of fun Brian… Brrrrrrrr…it is so cold there. Wear your mittens and toboggan . Don`t forget to take pictures ….we want to hear all the fun stuff…especially if you eat something good!!!!!

    • I haven’t taken any pictures. 🙁 But I will get some today. The food has been amazing, absolutely amazing! We’re in a cabin by a creek in Madison. We’re training, then eating, then training, then…

  3. You are at a Pals exclusive retreat? Details! Mary is a Dear! So sweet just as you would imagine. I’m glad you’ll catch up with your other cross-line Brian. Travel safely. Oh! And Laura’s luggage tags are awesome! What a nice treat for your friends! cough cough I thought we were friends, but I know I’m not at Pal! 🙂

  4. Where in Wi? I live in this state and its not cold this weekend… Just a little brisk:)

  5. Great tags! and what a nice boss! Yes, where in Wisconsin? I have relatives up there.

  6. Oh, the City of Madison, WI. holds some of the best memories for me. They host the IronMan Triathlon in September and I’ve been fortunate enough to do this race 2 times there. The entire city comes out that Sunday to cheer all of us participating, you can feel their support and enthusiasm through out the whole day, they stay up and wait for the last athlete to cross the finish line by midnight. I only wish I would have met Mary Fish when she still lived in Madison. This is the reason I picked her, because she lived there, funny, eh? If you see her today, please say hello to her for me, Brian. Thank you.
    Maria.

  7. Oh my gosh…I’m sooo jealous! But I’d be in a room full of the PALS and walk around with my jaw hanging open in awe of all the talent in the room!

Those tags are unbelievable! She is quite talented that boss of yours. I love the idea of water bottle tags. I may try to recreate them with paper and use them for Thanksgiving as I am hosting a gaggle of relatives 🙂 Do you think Laura minds a CASE of her tages??

  8. Beautiful tags and so happy you could attend the retreat! Your boss is very talented too!

  9. Brian these tags are simply gorgeous! Gives me ideas on what I can make with the fabric, thank you!!

  10. The tags are adorable, and what a fun way to identify your luggage at the airport. I have tied a ribbon on mine in the past. How lucky are your Pals! Can’t wait for your pictures of your jaunt to Madison.

  11. They are wonderful and thank you for sharing them, Brian! Hope you are having a blast!!!!!
