Pam’s Most Beautiful Christmas Dove

Somebody almost got herself kicked out of my craft room yesterday.

I took the day off from work yesterday to hang out with Mom before she heads home.  Pam came over to hang out with us and to work on projects in my basement.  Pam’s been talking about her Christmas card design for several weeks, but I’d not yet seen her cards.  She completed her design and assembled the cards yesterday.  When I saw her finished card, I politely asked her to leave.  Get out, Pam!  How dare she come to MY house and make something so ABSOLUTELY STUNNING.  How rude!  When you see her card, I think you’ll agree!  Here’s her finished card:www.stampwithbrian.com - Pam's Christmas Dove.jpg

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?  Pam found an old church hymnal at a used book store.  The spine was broken, and the pages were falling out.  She knew she’d have to use that for her cards.  With the Elegant Bird Bigz Die, she cropped the pieces of the bird and assembled them with a loop of linen thread on top.  Pam loves cards that showcase white on white (or, in this case, vanilla on vanilla).  She positioned this bird on front of a piece of Very Vanilla, textured with a Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  A strip of Basic Black cardstock, a couple of brads and a hand-trimmed banner, and you’ve got yourself a complete card.  How beautiful is that?

Oh, but it doesn’t stop there!  Pam’s gorgeous design transforms from a card to a gift in the form of a Christmas ornament.  Underneath the bird’s wings, she’s tucked a loop of linen thread.  The bird is attached to the card with temporary adhesive.  The recipient simply pulls the bird, and they’ve got a beautiful turtle dove to hang on the tree.20121217-175007.jpg

Stamp sets:  All Year Cheer 2 (retired)  Papers:  Very Vanilla, Basic Black  Accessories:  Elegant Bird Bigz Die,  3/16″ Metallic Brads, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Linen Thread

I am so happy to know Pam.  She is not only an amazing talent, but she’s a wonderful friend.  As a friend, though, Pam need to understand that she is no longer welcome to make projects this beautiful in my basement.  🙂  Please let her know how much you love her beautiful project.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
