A wise person once said, “It’s a misfortune to share a birthday greeting in the month you first receive it.” OK, no one ever said that – it’s kind of silly, no? But it helps me to feel better about the fact that I’ve yet to share some of the beauties I received for my birthday. So today, I want to share some really special cards I received from some dear friends. (disclaimer: I received many others but couldn’t show them all here)
Drumroll, please…now begins the parade of birthday cards…
This one is from Tricia Barber, a PAL (a fellow member of Mary Fish’s downline) who lives nearby. I love the layout, the textures and the colors (and you know I love the Festival of Prints paper stack):
You saw the pictures from my birthday dinner where Pam gave me a pair of Stampin’ Up! scissors. What you didn’t see is the ADORABLE card she gave me at dinner. Pam cleverly uses the Typeset Alphabet Bigz dies and the framelits from Hearts a Flutter (available in the 2013 Spring Catalog):
I’ve grown really fond of Suzie Cullen over the past couple of months. This card is perfectly masculine and simple, but her attention to detail is wonderful (and I wish you could see her beautiful handwriting):
Patti Willey also designed this card with a masculine appeal. I love that the shirt and tie are so positively retro that they look really good together – looks like I might work at Dunder Mifflin. 🙂 The whole thing is brought together nicely with the silver brads:
Windy Ellard is also a member of the PALS, and I was fortunate to meet her at Regionals this past Fall and hang out with her afterwards. I love the layout of this card. The sponging adds a vintage spin on this card, yet it’s still very clean:
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Product Shares. Today is the last day to sign up for the first round of product shares. I’ll continue to offer the shares, but I will place an order for the first round of shares Thursday morning. Check out the options here. Did you miss my post about the DSP swatch books? If so, check it out here. You need them. 🙂
New Catalog and Sale-a-Bration. The Spring Catalog is live tomorrow! While you can then place orders for the incredible bundles and papers and stamps, remember that Sale-a-Bration (SAB) is just around the corner. Plan your purchases accordingly! If you can hold your order until January 22, you can earn free SAB products for every $50 you spend. AND as you are racking up your free product through SAB and normal hostess benefits, don’t forget that you can earn free product, too, through my Shopping Rewards program. Do you need a Spring Catalog or an SAB brochure? If you are planning to purchase from me during the next couple of months, then send me an email ([email protected]) with your name and address. I’ll get them in the mail to you right away.
Nice batch of hand made cards! I like to celebrate my Birthday the entire Month myself, so you might just be in Vogue presenting these today, you never know when someone may have mailed you a belated greeting while you were still celebrating!
Great Dunder Mifflin shirt!
Love them all….they were all wowsers. Happy New Year!

Great cards, beautifully made. Love the one that looks like a shirt, super cool. Thanks for sharing them Brian, I hope your B-day was wonderful.
Thanks for sharing your cards. They are extraordinary!
So many good ideas abound here in these cards…..each one of them are so special… I know these are keepers… Lucky Ducky !!! I wished last night on a star that I had a catalog and hopefully the pony express will deliver one today . I want to get started on my wish list before the Sale-a-bration starts. Oh, and I have to say Tricia`s card really really caught my eye with that dash of Houndstooth mixed in the blues!!! Where oh where do these people get all this talent.????
I just thought I would mention for those non demo types that this is the last day to order the single stamps offer and the last day to order from the Holiday catty … just thought I would mention that !!!
Loved all the cards and it’s inspiring because I find that masculine card ideas don’t come easily for me. You are one lucky fella’ to have so many talented admirers!
Amazing cards! There are some really talented people out there.
Truly Amazing cards and cardmakers!! Thanks for sharing their talent with us!
I love the cards Brian and as a fellow ’40th birthdayer’ hope you had a marvellous day. Can you tell me what set the sentiment Tricia has used is? I’ve searched my catalogues but can’t see it and hope it may be a current one.
Perfect Punches is on page 120 of the catalog. 🙂
I stopped in to say I have a catalog now…. Yay!!! But I must say that I never looked at Perfect Punches stamp set before until you brought it to light Nikikate and Brian answered your inquiry…See that`s what I love about showing cards on your blog …plus I looked at Tricia`s card again and I am loving that argyle in blue(I have that folder ) Oh the wonder of it all…!!
Great Cards all!!!
