DSP Share, Fabric Sale and a Video

I’m completely overwhelmed – by how wonderfully supportive and caring you all have been.  When I posted my long, not-stamping-related story yesterday, I was afraid I’d annoy you or turn you away.  You responded in droves with amazing comments on my post and personal message to my email.  For the second day in a row, I don’t have a brand new card to share with you.  Instead, I have a video.

My Spring Favorites Designer Series Paper Share

Before I share the video, I’ve been told the announcement of my Spring Favorites DSP share might have been lost in a string of promotional items this past Saturday.  As a result, I’m posting it again here.  Just in time for Spring, I am happy to announce a new paper share – a great way for you to have a healthy selection of all the floral and Spring Designer Series Papers in time for all your Spring projects. The share includes 30 6″ x 12″ pieces of my favorite Spring DSPs (including the BRAND NEW Epic Day This and That DSP).  Click here for details and to save a spot in the share.

A New Tutorial Video – Stampin’ Dimensionals

I could not live without Stampin’ Dimensionals.  They adorn almost every card I make.  In this video tutorial, I share the basic use of dimensionals (such a bore for those of you who use them every day), but I also offer some cool tips and tricks that you might not know.  I’ve been using Stampin’ Dimensionals for years (even have some dimensionals from the early 2000’s when they sold them in a pack of thin and thick dimensionals), and I’ve learned some cool tips I want to share with you.

Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you learned something.

  1. Excellent tips Brian! You make learning so much fun-loved the little comments on the screen! Lots of laughing out loud over here as usual!!

    • Lorraine – You’ve put my thoughts into words again craftin buddy! I read the first coment without reading who by and felt the same….. then realised it was you! ROTFL
😀 Those little sub-headings were ‘LOL’ funny!
Ps I have also used the backing paper for sponging the edges of things on before now 😉 Thanks Brian

  2. Thank You for those great tips Brian…I too share your love of Dimensionals 🙂

  3. Clap clap clap!! Loved the tips! I will now keep an empty sheet by my side to attach snail adhesive! You’re too much! 🙂

  4. Great tip to keep the empty dimmentionals sheets near by to attach the snail to punched out CS. As always, it’s so much fun to see you and hear you explain your videos. Thank you for sharing those tips.

  5. Bravo, Brian…great dimensional video, and love all the extra tips at the end. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I don’t usually laugh this early in the morning but I so enjoyed your video!! your humor was great!! I really liked your tip using the empty dimensional sheet, I am always picking adhesive off everything!!

  7. Thanks, Brian. Great video…lots of wonderful tips. You always make me smile!

  8. As usual, excellence with a smile! Now I even know how to stick my cupboards shut!

  9. I, too, am prepared for a zombie apocalypse, so I’m especially appreciative of the SNAIL application part of the video. I’ll teach my newbie stampers how to not mess up their grid paper with stickiness.
But here’s my love of the Stampin’ Dimensionals: I’m trying to get Cyndi Lauper to change the words to Material Girl. Because I’m a Dimensional Girl!

    • Oh, Celia! I know my 1980’s music – it was Madonna who made “Material Girl” famous. Cyndi Lauper made “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” famous. You make me want to listen to Celia’s “Dimensional Girl”. 🙂

  10. Hi Brian:
Absolutely exciting to see you looking so well and getting back into the swing of things. That was a terrific tutorial. Sometimes demo’s get so wrapped up in teaching a technique they forget to go back to the basics. I’ve been using dimensionals since 2000 but never, ever thought to use them with the snail. I go through tons of scrap paper because I get snail glue all over it and if I forget to change the paper, the glue is on the next card I put down. So, thanks for this wonderful tip, I wonder how many trees it could save?

  11. thanks for the great tips!! love your video…

  12. Great tutorial and tips …..and for making me laugh and smile this morning!

  13. It’s always a good day when you’ve posted a new video, especially when it features one of my favourite products. Great tips (the Snail one was new to me, and I now know how to remove a Dimensional easily), and I too laughed out loud.

Looking forward to the next one!

  14. Your video was a pleasure!

  15. Fess up, ladies and gents….how many of you went and “popped” a dimensional to see if it worked?? I did! LOL!

  16. Great video! Wonderful tips! Thanks for giving us a smile .

  17. I prepare myself to laugh with you each morning. Your blog is so much fun, and I tell all my friends, all my family, and anyone I meet on the street, to check out stampwithbrian.com. I’m happy you are feeling better. Love the tutorial. Stampers everywhere are picking the discarded dimensional papers out of their trash to repurpose them, all because of you. Thanks for sharing your excitement with us.

  18. Raquel G. Martinez

I just love you, Brian! You teach us so much with your wonderful sense of humor. You brighten my day. Thank you and be well, my dear. 🙂

  19. The dimensional backing sheet tip was new to me and it’s a great one! I knew there had to be a reason to keep them, now there is! Thanks for always making me smile.

  20. Thanks, Brian. I did learn something. I, too, love dimensionals.

  21. I wish SU would bring back the two sizes of dimensionals. Now I stack two to get more lift. How’s that for a tip? Thank you for keeping the zombies away! Hope you feel good today. As much as I like your cards, your well-being is more important. We can always look in your archives. Take it easy, Nancy B

    • Diane - BC, Canada

Nancy is right Brian. You work on getting well and not worry about us. You have left a legacy in your archives that we can revisit when we are missing “our Brian”. Get well my friend. Sweet dreams filled to the brim with SU future projects.

  22. Brian, can’t believe I just watched a 6 minute tutorial on dimensionals! But, as usual, you are thoroughly entertaining & have some great tips! Love your sense of humor!! And I’ll be careful about the kitchen cupboards! Glad you’re doing okay!

  23. excellent tutorial and you busted me up at the Zombie Apocalypse!!.

I did learn about the dimensionals… thank you for sharing

  24. You are a hoot Brian. Love your comments through the tutorial. Never knew about how to re-position after the dimensionals were on without making a mess and ruining the card. Hope you are feeling better.

  25. Javajoannefunnstamps

Yes dimensionals are TOO COOL! Does anyone from corporate at SU read your blog? WE NEED SMALLER SIZES OF DIMENSIONALS! Please. I also use the leftover slick paper to set my ribbons on when I am putting SNAIL adhesive on. It keeps my work area from getting sticky. If its going to get sticky it should be from chocolate. Jus’ sayin’. Thanks for the tips!

  26. Great video and info Brian. Have you ever cut a whole sheet of dimensionals in half – each
row – all the way up so you can use only half at a time? They last so much longer that way.

  27. Brian, please do more videos! I felt like you’d come to Oregon to put on a little demo right in my living room!

  28. So enjoyed your dimensionals video. Can’t wait to try it with my snail — no more sticking on my scrap sheets and messing up a card. Yeah! Please take good care of yourself as you are so needed by all of us. Your cards and videos are so inspiring and entertaining. I lways look forward to reading your posts.

  29. Stampin’ Up + Zombie Apocolypse Reference = something I would have never thought I’d hear together! You break the barriers, my friend! 🙂 I totally used your “snip the edges and use them” approach this past week. Waste not want not!

  30. My upline taught me to use my fingernail to get the sheet of the back of the dimensionals. Just press your fingernail into the back of it once you’ve applied it to the element to which you want to give the lift and the sides of the sheet on the dimensional will lift up and be easy to peel off. 🙂

  31. I didn’t get to see the video until last night – couldn’t believe I’d not gotten to read your blog yesterday either – happens when you have family for Spring Break/Easter. You taught me at least 2 new things about those dear little dimensionals and reminded me what a bargain they are as well. 😉 And my dear daughter was watching your video over my shoulder and she, too, got such a kick out of the comments by you on the screen! Thanks, Brian! I’ll watch it, again, to see if I missed anything else 🙂

  32. Great ideas and usage Brian. Helped me to learn something new.

  33. Love your Dimensional video….never hurts to learn new things…thank you!

  34. Your tutorials are not only informative, but they are also so entertaining! Thanks for sharing with us, Brian.
