You’ve been asking for it, so I am here to deliver. It’s time for Day Two of my Spring One-for-One Card Swaps. These card makers shared their beautiful artwork with me and the other participants in the swap. I mailed them back out but snapped photos of them first so I could share with you. Behold these beauties, and please let them know how much you love their designs and detail work:
So, what do you think? Aren’t these wonderful? This is the time when you say, “Brian!!!!!! I will definitely participate in the next one-for-one share because I would LOVE to receive any of these cards!!!!!!! They are so beautiful!!!!!!” Your excitement is wonderful, but you really don’t have to use that many exclamation marks to make your point. I get it.
Please let these folks know how much you love their artwork!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I have a special treat for you tomorrow – a card AND a video. Yipee doodle dee!
Brian

So many beautiful designs here! I especially love Ellen’s sunshine (so clever), and Ann and Maria’s layouts. What a treat for you, Brian, to have had them all in one place to ooh and ah over!
Another great selection! I like combining Best Dad Ever with the Open Sea’s set Leah…. hmmmm – I have both of those 🙂 Loving the Peacock feathers….. now did you mail Brian a feather also or did he just happen to have one knocking about in his fungeon??… 😀
Sally your Butterflies are lovely! They remind me of something in my distant memory which I can’t quite grasp at present – but I’m sure the butterflies were magnetic on a board or something and you could make them fly around by moving the magnet at the back. I love the look – just like they have perched there 🙂
The feather was my inspiration and from my collection of feathers from peacocks my dad used to raise. I would have loved to seen Brian’s expression when he open up the card and the feather fell out. You can’t tell from the card but I used an illuminate glimmer watermark ink to give the feathers a shine. This was also my first time ever to use “sketches”. A real challenge for this caser.
The trellis involved some extreme stamp-a-ma-jigging (is that a word?!) but I wanted the butterflies to look as if they had just perched there…glad you thought so too!
Another OUTSTANDING array of beautifully creative cards! Thank you so much, Brian, for sharing the second installment of the card swap! I definitely got my inspiration for the day! 🙂
Beautiful Spring Cards! The Dad card is extremely handsome!
WOW WOW WOW…..what a parade of beauties!
They’re all so beautiful and creative but I must show partiality to Marge’s card as she is my friend and neighbor and I’m so excited to see her card on your site. Thank you Brian for sharing and hoping to see you at Convention this year.
I’ll be there, Jean!
Why, thank you Jean, how nice of you.
Really beautiful cards, Brian. I love Ann’s card, the Secret Garden stamps and companion dies are simply awesome and the card by Ellen with the sun rays is great, how was this done? Ok, so you are going to still keep us in suspense waiting for Sonny’s card, eh?
Doh! It was my intention to show Sonny’s “real” card today but I totally forgot. I will definitely add it to Monday’s post when I share the remainder of the swap cards. Yay!
LOL!! Ok, I will send you a friendly reminder on Sunday, Mr. King.
Great work to all. Can’t wait for the next round.
BRIAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hugs frenchie
can’t wait for Tomarrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you excited, Frenchie? Your exclamation marks run right off the page. 🙂
A feast for the eyes…..Each one of these cards has something of wow quality ! The talent is not wasted because each card has something inspiring on it !! Well done swappers !!! And Maria , don`t fret he`s saving my card `til last because he`s writing up ” Fifty things I like about this card”.
And Brian , you forgot me !
I can only narrow it down to 55, Sonny. 🙂
Oh, I got the one from Sally Bowman and its awesome. Thanks Sally! I love the bling on the butterflies.
All of these are lovely.
So glad you like it, Traci. In my house, if it pauses for 10 seconds, it’ll have a rhinestone added to it!
These are gorgeous! I’m not ready yet to compete with this level of gorgeousness!
I so agree with you! Love them all can hardly wait til Monday to see more inspiration! Thank you Brian!!
Carol – don’t forget about the inspiration you can get with MY posts on Saturday and Sunday. 🙂 🙂 🙂
AHHHHHHH – dessert for the eyes!
I love these parades of beautiful cards, and regretting I was away and wasn’t able to participate in the swap this time. Thanks to all who made these creations and to Brian for organizing the swap. I am getting so many great ideas!
Love Ellen’s card. Does she have a blog?
Leah, what stamp set is that? I could really use that one for a special client!
Just realized you did more than one card! I’m talking about the peacock feather – I must get that stamp set!
Carol – that’s Fine Feathers. It’s a set that debuted last year and is found on page 79 of the 2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog. http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=126517&dbwsdemoid=2104107
Thank you Brian. No matter how many times I go through that catalog, I still miss something. Then I see something somebody made, and I’m WOWED by a stamp set that I didn’t even “see” in the catalog.
They ARE beautiful cards! I wonder how long it will take for one to get to me.
(Look! A sentence I didn’t finish with an exclamation mark!)
Amazingly talented group! So impressed!
So how, exactly, does one participate in a one-for-one swap? 🙂 I’d love to someday!
I’ve hosted two or three swaps, Laura. I will likely do another in June or July. I’ll announce it here on my blog – you just send me one card (that you designed and created with Stampin’ Up! supplies) with a return envelope. I mix them up and send them back out. That’s easy!
They are all very nice!! I especially love the first one, Sunshine and also the Best Dad Ever!
Thank you for sharing, Brian…so much inspiration in these fabulous cards!
Yet another wonderful array of talented stampers! Can Ellen tell us how she created that sun in her card? I’d love to know how she did it! Thanks for sharing Brian. Your blog is always a bright spot in my day!
Thank you all for your kind words.
I was inspired by Michelle Zindorf. The sun
Is a technique from her advanced braying class. Brayer background with daffodil
Delight with a mask for sun. Put a pencil mark in center of white sun. Use a straight edge index card to sponge tangerine tango
Rays. Erase pencil mark and fill in circle sponging with Daffodil delight. I am very flattered that so many of you like it. Thank you Brian for posting my cards. Your blog is now my favorite!
Ellen, I got your card and it is a work of art. I plan on putting your card on an easel in my stamping room and a brayer is on my list now. Thanks so much for sharing.
Maria, your beautiful card arrived in today’s mail: thank you so much! It was also so lovely to receive your notes on how you made such a pretty and detailed card.
And Brian, thank you so much for adding a little extra postage to my envelope…promise to do better next time x
