The weather has really started to shift this past week. While we should be bracing for Summer temperatures in Atlanta, it feels more like Fall is upon us. I expect to see the leaves dropping from the trees, but they are vibrant and green in this cool weather. My calendar still tells me it’s Spring, so I’ve been busy with some Spring cleaning and organizing in the fungeon. I must prepare for a new year with the release of the 2013-2014 Idea Book & Catalog. I’m also starting to make my DSP swatch books for the new catalog – can’t wait to start sharing those – and am prepping for product shares!
Sharing Some Blog Candy
In the midst of the cleaning and organizing, I’ve decided to “let go” of some really great Stampin’ Up! products, so I thought it would be great to share with you. Some of these products date back eight or nine years, but some are current in the Spring Catalog. All of them are in really great shape. It’s quite a variety of accessories and embellishments, and I think you will love them. Just leave a comment below.

Totally Unrelated to Stamping – Video Share
While we are sharing with one another (OK, maybe I’m doing most of the sharing here, but I’m OK with that), I wanted to share a video with you. In 2007, I participated in a stand-up comedy competition. The Search for the South’s Funniest Accountant is held annually in Atlanta as a fundraiser for Junior Achievement and to help change the myth that accountants are boring, dull people. There were about 600 people in this theater, and this was my first time doing stand-up comedy. I’m really proud of this bit because it’s clean comedy and really shows my personality. My nerves were on fire backstage, but I was so comfortable once I stepped on that stage. Before you click on this, be sure you have 8 minutes to watch it – my favorite part comes about half way through. Here’s my little gift to you:
I didn’t win the competition in 2007 (didn’t even place) but participated again the next year – AND WON! I’ll share that video with you at some other time. Too much going on today.
One More Share – a Sneak Peek
I’ve shared some product. I’ve shared an old video of me. Now, I’m going to share a sneak peek at the card I’ve got lined up for you tomorrow. Here’s what I’ve got for you tomorrow:
Doesn’t that look exciting?! 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Don’t forget to leave a comment below to enter my Blog Candy drawing. I’ll be announcing the winner tomorrow evening, so please don’t forget to come back to claim your prize (I have a really good feeling you will be the winner). You’ve got a week to email me to claim it. Offer good for U.S. residents.
Brian
Swatch Books and Product Shares. I’ll be announcing my product shares and swatch books closer to the end of May. If you’d like to be included on my mailing list, please send me an email at [email protected] to let me know to add you. I’ll be posting them here, too, but won’t it be nice to receive all the information in an email?
You are such a tease…….. I loved your comedy routine and can hardly wait for the next one. I also will be glad to take your “cleaning house prodcuts”…. I can envision a card or ten. lol If I get stuck creating I bet I can find something on the Internet. PICK ME PLEASE….. After doing the cards I promise I will share.
I’ll have to watch the video later at work….my speakers don’t work at home….still NOT sure WHY! Thanks for the chance at your blog candy. Have a great weekend.
Can’t wait to see tomorrows card. Also please let me know when you have another card class.
here in CT I can’t remember the last time it rained-what weird weather we are all having. Love the video!!!
Brian, I like seeing your cards because you bring the male perspective. We see so many “girlie” cards that when it comes to making cards for our “men” we sometines get lost and they become too stark. Thank you for helping me with ideas for the Fellas!
Brian, I have had thoughts of you being “comical” since I started reading your blog….you have proved that this morning. I am sooooo guilty of some of the things you talked about. I use my work break room table just as you described, my husband appreciates pot luck as you do and I also am guilty of using a car door to do bodily harm. My old boyfriend just got a “tap”- not a trip to the hospital though. Love your blog, appreciate the style of your card making and can’t wait to see your winning stand up routine.
I am new to the stampin up world and love your blog, great ideas. The items you are giving away would be so much fun for me. Can’t wait to see yout card tomorrow.
What a great way to start a Friday morning! I can so relate to your potluck antics…hilarious!
Well Brian, I want to thank you for the laughs this morning, it was a real treat. I specially like the part where you talked about your heroic attempt to get rid of this wasps, I can picture you, one second you are holding that can of wasp spray, the next second you are laying on the floor. I sympathize with your mom about this nasty bugs, I had a nest right outside my craft room window but I didn’t even know it until one day I noticed a big black “stain” on the brick wall and, after closer inspection from the inside, I realized something was not right because all of this animals were on the outside wall basking in the sun. Needless to say, I called the exterminator and he came and got rid of them but the nest was between the brick wall outside and my craft room’s closet wall, really creepy. Anyway, thanks for the laughs and for the chance to win this great blog candy.
I always have to check your blog as soon as I get up, but I have an early appt. today so I will have to wait until later to watch the video. Can’t wait to see it! Thank you for offering this giveaway to some lucky reader. Of course I especially thank you if I am that one! LOL
Some very interesting older SU products. Yes indeed, a very curious sneek peek at tomorrows card. Anticipation! Had me in stitches with your comedy routine. Would like to see the routine of the person that won so we can compare. Appreciate the blog candy. Crossing my fingers.

I enjoy your blog regularly and the fact that you almost always make me smile. Thanks for sharing the video. I could relate to your antics and thought you should have at least placed in the contest (prejudiced since I only saw your act, but it was fun)! Thanks for sharing your humor, your talent, and bits of your life with all of us.
I just used some of the silver wire to make my husband’s birthday card. I love all of your
cards, such talent!!
Blog candy and a video! thanks for a great laugh this morning. The wasp nest story was perfect.
Thanks always for a fun entertaining blog. I would love to win that blog candy. Can’t believe you are giving up those fabric roses–I love mine but alas have used them all.
Loved the video, can’t wait for the next one. You may be a good accountant but you are also a great comedian. I really enjoy your blog, I check it out daily. Thanks for all the inspiration you give us on a daily basis.
Brian, I love your style of cards, and love your amazing sense of humor! I was laughing out loud at your stand-up routine, thanks for making my morning! Keep up the great work!
A man of many talents. I was cracking up at your video. I can just see you behind the shield of the car door, spraying the wasp nest with a steady stream of poison…too funny! And your mom taking off before you were in the car…oh my.
Your blog candy is incredible. I spy that package of hemp. I’m still bummed that SU discontinued that item. I JUST used the last of my stash and am so sad :(. I love that stuff! The linen thread is nice but the hemp is awesome.
Happy Stampin!
What fun ! Loved it ! Blog candy and entertainment …..WOW ! What a great blog you have ,Mr. King ! I loved your video …. really would love to see the “Winner” one …I am wondering if the sneak peak is using the stamp set I think it is ? Now all you need to do is serve breakfast and everything would be complete for our morning visits ….
Hahahaha…..What happened to the wasp nest? Did you get it down?
Wow. Didn’t know you were an accountant. My degree is in Accounting. Small world. Well, there are lots of people in accounting.
Brian, I think your timing of giving away Blog Candy, and your amazing video of your comedy routine that included the candy found on your co-workers desk is great timing. Did you plan that? I am sure you did. You do such a great job on your card, I CASE them often, that makes me look good, but I always tell them I CASE’d from you. Have a great weekend, it is raining in Arkansas and Special Olympics district track meet has been postponed till Monday, which I hope is a better day.
Hi Brian -I knew it, I knew it, I knew it – You are a born comedian! There is nothing better than starting the day with a good laugh and boy, you sure filled the bill today. Thanks Brian. It’s amazing to me how many more comments a blog gets when blog candy is on the line! LOL Have a wonderful day…………..I too will patiently wait for your winning performance.
Blog candy AND A hysterical video in one post? Does it get any better than that? I think not. Can’t wait to see the next video! Thanks for sharing, Brian.
What a pleasure getting to know my friend Brian better through this hilarious video! IMHO, you should have won. Looking forward to round two!
Just loved your video…….and your card making talent. You have a natural gift for it. Would LOVE to win, as I donate time and my supplies to women in a year treatment program for substance abuse. I go through so much product, and winning this would be so exciting. Whatever happens, blessings to you….you brighten my morning coffee 🙂
Loved the routine. Would like to see the winners, because can’t imagine why you didn’t win. It must have been fixed! As a teacher the break table bit really hit home. I live in a small town with one school. The whole staff could be wiped out with a shot of that wasp poison in or on a stale cake or a plate of cookie crumbs..
Loved the vid…..you are just a natural talent! Seriously! I would love to win. I teach/donate card making to women in treatment for substance abuse 2x a month and go through so many supplies. We don’t have some of this stuff, so the women would be excited as well. Thanks for providing me with inspiration and a laugh as I enjoy my morning coffee every morning!!
I enjoy reading your blog every morning. Such great creativity inspire me. Thank you for that and chance to win SU product.
