Today is Monday, which means yesterday was Sunday, which means The Paper Players have issued a new challenge for the week, which means I tackled the challenge yesterday, which means I am sharing my project today. Anne Marie Hile is hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge with a “For the Kids” theme. Clean and Simple – right up my alley. For the Kids – herein lies my challenge. I started to make this card a couple of months, but I stopped part way through and never picked it back up. Until now. Anne Marie’s challenge has brought it to the light of day. Here’s my card:
And here’s the challenge banner from The Paper Players:Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Making my Own Designer Series Paper. As I told you back in July, You’re My Hero is one of my favorites from the Annual Catalog. All of the sketched emergency vehicles and sentiments are TOO ADORABLE for words. An entire page of stamped police cars looks like a young boy’s pajamas, don’t you think? I stamped all the images in Jet Black StazOn and alternated between Real Red and Pool Party to color in my cars. In case you missed it, I added Real Red to the star on the Pool Party cars and Pool Party to the star on the Real Red cards.
- Lining them up. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the police cars on my background piece. I created a line of cards and then staggered the next line, fitting the wheels right between the lights on the tops of the cards. Keeping this perspective as I stamped them really helped me to keep them right where they needed to be.
- Clean and Simple. Since this “for the kids” challenge is also a Clean and Simple challenge, I created an extra-large panel for the center panel and stamped “happy day” directly in the middle. I really like the look of this. I used the Real Red envelope liner from the Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit – an easy addition.
Stamps sets: You’re My Hero, Happy Day Papers: Real Red, Pool Party, Whisper White Inks: Jet Black StazOn Ink, Real Red, Pool Party Accessories: Blender Pen, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit

Beep Beep! These cars are so cute! And yes it reminds me of a set of little boy pajamas! Happy Day!
Cute …cute ! And look at how colorful those police cars are ! I don`t think I could have gotten all of those little cars lined up so straight even with the “Jig” Maybe you should go into DSP designing !!
Ditto on the use of the jig. Even with it I doubt I could make the line up as perfect as Brian has.
Your perfectly positioned police cars (& alternating the lights with Pool Party and Real Red!!) totally remind me of fun jammies Brian!!! Great card!! 🙂 Insta-smile, which is exactly what I need on a Monday morning!! 🙂
Super cute card, CAS and adorable!! Love, love those little cars, it does remind me of a set of pj’s my grandson has that have little fire trucks. So colorful and cheerful, any kid would love to receive this card. The Stamp-a-magig is a must have for lining up perfectly any image.
This is such a cute card! I’m sure any boy or girl would love to receive it. I’m going to have to pull out my stamp-a-ma-jig and make my own DSP too. Thank you Brian!
Delightful!
So Cute!! Thank you for sharing.
This card just exudes happiness! Yay, Brian!!! : )
Super CUTE indeed!! Love it!
Just darling, Brian! What a fun way to start the week; seeing this card! The light on top of the car seems to sparkle — even without glitter!
How A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E, Brian! You are SO RIGHT to describe your handmade DSP as reminding you AND us of little boy jammies! Real Red and Pool Party are perfect for this, too. Happy Monday! Hugs!
I cannot imagine anyone NOT smiling when they see this card. I have several nephews that are law enforcement officers and this would be a great card to send to their sons. Love the colors and fantastic job on getting everything lined up perfectly Brian! I use the jig all the time but still doubt I could come close to the perfection you’ve achieved lining up those cars.
beep, beep! too cute!
Such a happy card…. TSF.
What little boy or girl at one point doesn’t say…..I want to be a policeman, policewoman when I grow up. Super cute card! Warm fuzzy jammies for sure.
Is this simply and cute…or what?
So cute! Now I’m going to have to buy that set!
Who’s got the keys to the Jeep??!! You do!! Too cute, Brian. Love the repeated cars and the colors are so cheerful. Great card for the challenge…thanks for joining us again this week!
So today is Monday and tomorrow is Tuesday and do you know what that means? Only 4 more days until the weekend 😉 Ha-ha… thought I’d play along.
Yes, this is very nice. I love it!
Adorable, Brian! What a great card for a little boy. Or a little girl who likes police cars! Love how you stamped the image multiple times for a background, and may I add how perfectly you lined them up.
Fun card, Brian…I love your homemade DP!!! I like the envelope liner, too! Thanks for playing with the challenge this week!
Love the “make your own DSP” idea, Brian! Those little cars are adorable and I love the soft colors. So glad you joined us this week at the Paper Players for my “CAS Kids” challenge. 🙂
I LOVE this card!
