The Most Amazing Card

I have an AMAZING card to share with you today – you’ve never seen anything like this.  But first…and there’s a tie-in to the card here so keep reading…yesterday Stampin’ Up! announced a new recruiting promotion (effective October 7-21) that allows YOU to join MY team for just $25.  Woo hoo!  Our group is absolutely amazing, and I would love for you to be a part of it!  Anyway, when Stampin’ Up! Regionals were canceled this year, Pam, Katy and I (all members of Mary Fish’s Pals group) decided to put together a Pals-only event this coming Saturday.  20 Pals, including 5 members of InKing Royalty (my group), will be living it up in Atlanta for this all-day event filled with make-and-takes, games, product showcases and giveaways.  Even Mary Fish, herself, is flying in on Friday.  What a treat!  I want you to be at our next event.  Now for the tie-in I promised – as part of this event, I will be demonstrating the Circle Card Thinlits Dies and showing some exciting ways to use them.  That brings us to today’s card.

Every day I strive to create projects that “wow” you – it’s my goal to make you happy and to inspire you to create new and interesting projects for yourself.  I want to share projects that either show a cool technique or give you a fun tip that will allow you to avoid the mistakes I made.  When Justin Krieger’s birthday popped up a couple of weeks ago, I went overboard to make “the most amazing card” – you can see it here.  If you remember, Justin and I were roommates at Convention (where we met).  When he came to visit a couple of weeks ago, Justin brought a card that’s one-half card and one-half scrapbook – and in my estimation, the most amazing card you’ll ever see.  It was enveloped in a Tag-a-Bag bag and sealed with Washi Tape.  I will now sit back and let you enjoy:

What do you think?  Justin’s not a part of my group, but this is what it’s all about, huh?  I couldn’t help but NOT share this card.  I hope you’ll check out his work at www.jkcardsonline.com.

Featured in this card are a ton of papers, stamps, punches, thinlits and papers.  I won’t even try to list them all – it could take three posts to get through them all.  I will share, though, that Wendy Weixler and Charlotte Combes unknowingly lent their likenesses to this project.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Brian

I can keep my mouth shut. This card is beautiful and masculine at the same time. Brian you truly are a great friend to have inspired this amazing paper art combo.

  15. That is AWESOME!

  16. Extremely awesome and over the top! The word ‘Wow’ is an understatement in describing this card. Justin you did a fantastic job with this scrapbook card, as I’ll call it! 🙂

  17. I love mixing media. I made a scrapbook/card type thing as a going away present for my boss this past weekend. We share a love of animals and so I made an album for her pooches. I didn’t have any animal type stamps, but I used all sorts of other stamps and stampin up products with other stuff I had lying around. She loved it and it’s given me ideas for other presents. Cuz you know, holidays are fast approaching. All she has to do is add the photos. I wish I had taken pictures of it to share with you!

And I’m totally joining the team! You can’t beat $25!!!!

Don’t suppose non team members can come Saturday can we??

  18. A truly priceless treasure!!

  19. Terrific card, every aspect of it. So happy for you both, friends are so special. 🙂

  22. What a stellar card/mini scrapbook celebrating wonderful connections.

  23. I can only repeat the same things: WOW. Stunning. Stellar. Awesome. Amazing. Brian, I think you may have to invite Justin back as a “guest-designer” to one of your events so he can teach your team how to make this gorgeous card/album (not that I doubt YOU can teach it too, would just be nice for you to sit back for a little bit during your presentation and let Justin take over to give you a break).
I wish a lived both in Georgia and NY. Don’t get me wrong, I love Canada. LOL (still looking for those Klondike bars though!) You guys are amazing paper crafters and thank you so much for sharing.

  24. Holey, Moley! Double flip cards plus! Justin must have spent a lot of time creating this gorgeous album/card. What a fantastic job he did and Brian, I’m sure your jaw dropped when you received it! The best part though is the new friendship you’ve made. I think friendship is the greatest gift of all. You are both very fortunate.

  25. Oh my gosh!!! That card is AMAZING!!!

  26. You’re absolutely right Brian, this card is amazing. Have a great time with the Pals and the awesome Mary Fish.

  27. Why were regionals canceled?

    • I think they were a bit overwhelmed with events all over the world and decided to (maybe) concentrate the Regionals in the Spring rather than have them split between Fall and Spring.

  28. WOW is an understatement! lucky you to be the recipient and Justin I hope you share the how to! I haven’t read his blog yet today, maybe he will if you two co-ordinated the reveal??

  29. Wow, wow, Wow!!! First time I’ve seen the “flip-it” card accordian style. Beautiful & brilliant!

  33. OH MY FREAKING WOW!!!! I’m totally blown away! I KNEW there was more you could do with those amazing thinlets but my creative brain is just not plugged in. I’ve seen a double flip that I thought was pretty amazing but this just blew that out of the water! Brian, thank you for sharing it with us. Justin, thank you for coming up with the idea. I know you will have an AMAZING weekend with the Pals and Royalty members. Can’t wait to read about it on Monday (maybe Sunday if you’re feeling up to sharing?)

  34. OMG This card, not really a card, it’s a treasure, is amazing. What a great gift. I would love to know how he did that. What a great idea for a mini baby book, to commemorate a graduation, a wedding….my mind is flying.

  39. Hi, Brian, This is an unusual card and I love this card, as usual. I have a problem that I’m hoping the group of amazing card-makers I follow can help with. We lost our long-awaited for little boy, Spencer, at the age of 10 due to brain cancer, after a 6-year battle. We found a school project the day after passing called, “My Christmas Wishes”. In that spirit, and with the help of his good friend NBA mascot, Jazz Bear, “Spencer’s Wishes” was born. Our goal is to bring wholesome, character-buiding to the youth of our community. 1 of our events involve inviting 100 children to a holiday party each Dec., where they eat pizza, are entertained by a magician, Santa and, of course, Spencer’s friend, Jazz Bear. As a fund-raiser, each Nov., local business provide goods to give away to donors. In the past I work all year long on extra cards and put them in clear boxes of 6 each to give for donations. They sell like crazy!! In June, I was hospitalized with a severe bowel obstruction. On a Sunday p.m., my surgeon felt it had reached a critical stage and rushed me into a 1-2 hour surgery. 4 hours later he came out to tell my family it was the worst obstruction he’d seen in 41 years & barring any complications, it would be at least a 3-month recovery. Of course, I had many complications and have not made a card since JUNE!! Our fund-raiser is on Nov. 13th. If any of you are willing to part with a single card, card front or mini card, I would be forever grateful!! My address is: Pam Roundy, 689 Apple Circle Price, UT 84501 Please help the children in a very depressed economy have 1 day a year they can forget all their troubles and revel in the joy of childhood! Much love to you all!!! Pam

    • Hello Pam: I apologize for not replying to you sooner, I missed your post but, if you come back here I hope you read this message. I will be more than happy to contribute to such an amazing cause. I will start working on some cards for your fund raiser.
      Maria Rodriguez.
PS. Do the cards have to have a special theme or can they be any theme?

  40. WOW X 8! This card is AWESOME! You and Justin are both so incredibly talented! How lucky for you to be the recipient of this thoughtful and amazing card.

  41. That is just TOO cool! I haven’t used my dies yet and have a class that I’ll be teaching on Thursday. While that is too complicated for the length of my class, it is certainly something worth showing off! Thanks for such a great idea.

  42. OMG!! Over the top creative. Love it!
