Christmas Cards from Friends: Day Two

I hope that today is a very special day for you and that you are surrounded by friends and family.  I am happy that the cold has made its way back to us in Atlanta  (I know it’s not as cold here as it is where many of you live, but I’m perfectly happy for it to be cold on Christmas), and I am happy that Mom has made her way to Atlanta, too.  🙂  While I am sharing things that make me happy, I am also excited today that I can share some more beautiful Christmas cards I received from friends, customers, fellow-demonstrators and family.  Please note that these are not ALL of the cards I received (I am SO lucky), but I can’t showcase all of them here.  If your card is not showcased in today’s post (or in Monday’s post), it doesn’t mean the card is any less special to me.  I’m just trying to share cards with varying techniques or perspectives.  Without any further ado:

My favorite “selling point” about Stampin’ Up! products is how perfectly the inks and papers and accessories match one another (you can’t get that in the big box stores).  I love that the beauty of Jamie’s monochromatic card is not lost with mismatched shades.

I love the layout of Dawn’s card – and the appearance of texture created by this paper and wood background.  Then, there’s that glitterly reindeer.  Don’t get me started on that.  🙂

I really like the soft colors in Nicole’s card and that off-center ornament.  I’ve always liked that “sparkly” page from Winters Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, and I really love it on the face of an ornament.

I’ve not made the file cards that have been so popular this year with the Envelope Punch Board, but I have to say they are ADORABLE in person.  Leishman’s card is unlike any other card I received.

Joy used the Label Bracket Punch to make Santa’s belt.  Let me say that one more time, in case you missed it – Joy used the Label Bracket Punch to make Santa’s belt.

I am in love with the background on Lynn’s card – the background stamp and the trees, but I’m crazy about the tiny amount of Crystal Effects added to Santa’s glasses (can you see that?).  Really makes them pop right off his face (they don’t really pop OFF his face, so I guess I should have said pop FROM his face?)  Oh, I don’t know, but I do know I like it!

Sandy showcases new products from the Occassions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration in her beautiful card.  The trees are from Life in the Forest, and the polka dot embossing folder is from Sale-a-Bration.  These colors are beautiful.

Katy’s masking and sponging is out-of-this-world!  I love the way she framed the centerpiece of her card and allows the snowflakes to overlap the sponged center.

Jenn’s tri-fold, square card is phenomenally constructed.  The star on the front lays perfectly over the stamped star image on the second panel.  This was a fun card to open up.

Maria never ceases to amaze me with what she can do with paper and watercolors.  This poinsettia is stunning, and I admire her sponging over the embossed background piece.

Oh, how I love Marlene’s stacked Christmas tree and tag!  50% rustic, 50% modern, 100% awesome.  This technique really showcases Stampin’ Up!’s gorgeous Designer Series Paper.

I can’t take enough pictures of September’s card to fully capture its awesomeness, so I’m sticking with just one.  September’s gatefold card opens like a beautiful accordian (it’s quite a beautiful sight to watch an accordian on mute).  Also, the poinsettia is gorgeous on vellum with silver embossing powder.

Again, I hope your day is filled with love and peace.  I am so happy you have spent this time with me.  I’m back tomorrow with a brand new card for the last Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge of the year.  Woo hoo!

Thanks for stopping by today!
