A “Three Spree” for Three Challenges (PP190, DD97 & TCC7)

The Papers have a unique challenge this week – “Three Spree – Use 3 of anything on your card or project.”  Oh, I’ve got a post FILLED with threes for you today.  Not only do I showcase cards with three items and three images from a single stamp, but I have three cards that are each 3″ x 3″.  Oh!  And I made the cards with inspiration from THREE card challenges.  So, welcome to my post of THREE’s.  Here are my cards:

Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes, PP190, DD97, TCC7 Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes, PP190, DD97, TCC7Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes, PP190, DD97, TCC7 Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes, PP190, DD97, TCC7 Here’s LeAnne’s “Three Spree” challenge from The Paper Players:Here’s the color challenge from Dynamic Duos:And here is the theme challenge from The Card Concept:Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Style Definition.  The Card Concept welcomes all card styles – clean and simple, clean and layered, clean and graphic, shabby chic (to name a few).  These cards would definitely fall into the clean and layered category.  There are several layers of card stock on each of these cards, but the overall look is clean.
  • Same, but Different.  While it’s obvious that these three cards contain different sections of the same Swallowtail, several other components of the cards are different from card to card.  Each card contains THREE candy dots – each arranged differently (horizontally, vertically and on the corner).  The banners are all placed differently on the cards, too.  Same materials – just displayed a bit differently.
  • Using Black as an Accent.  The Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise pair nicely for a fun, Spring card.  I have created a very thin border of black paper (only 1/8″ wider on each side) between the two bright colors.  This black border not only references the black Swallowtail, but it also allows the Mambo and Turquoise to pop.

Stamps sets:  Swallowtail, Teeny Tiny Wishes  Papers:  Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Whisper White  Inks:  Jet Black Stazon  Accessories:  White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Candy Dots (Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise), Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you enjoyed today’s project.
