As a part of yesterday’s Pals Earth Day Blog Hop, I shared a project I made with some great Japanese comic books I received from Serina’s recent trip to Japan. I have no idea what is going on inside the pages of these comics, but the images are all very interesting – and Wisteria Wonder! The images are not consistent with the images we see in Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs, but that’s what makes these pages so unique for a paper craft project. Here’s a quick picture of the project I shared yesterday:
Fun, huh? As I promised, I have two more projects to share. When I saw the image in the next card, I knew I had to use it. It’s SO different from any of the others – that’s why it stood out to me. It wasn’t a [silly] character – it’s a beautiful image. I bordered the image with Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder and then mounted that on a piece of Sahara Sand. I stamped a sentiment from Thoughts & Prayers and added three, small folded pieces of chevron ribbon. The featured ribbon is Wisteria Wonder (although it pictures a bit bluer here).
Stamp sets: Thoughts & Prayers Papers: Sahara Sand, Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette Inks: Wisteria Wonder Accessories: Subtles Candy Dots (Pink Pirouette), 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon (Wisteria Wonder), Stampin’ Dimensionals
That’s not all! In honor of our Earth Day celebration, I also used this paper to fill and wrap a Tag a Bag Gift Box – perfect for a handful of wrapped chocolate eggs, huh? I shredded a few pages of the comics with my fringe scissors to create a “nest” of paper in the gift box. I used the Gift Bow Bigz L Die to make this double bow as a topper of the gift. Did you know that the Gift Bow Bigz L Die is still available? It was offered in the Holiday Catalog last year and is available online at this time (check it out here). Here are some pictures of my gift box:

Unbeknownst to me, yesterday’s post coincided with Stampin’ Up!’s announcement that Stampin’ Up! is opening operations in Japan. How cool is that? I’m SO on the cutting edge, huh? 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I hope you enjoyed today’s project.

How unusual ! Just seeing that image almost brings tears to my eyes . And who would know Wisteria Wonder would finally get her spot ! Yes, I was very aware that your post yesterday came right along with the SU goes to Japan ! I thought it was “a plan .” I like your gift box too !
Oh my goodness Brian, I am again amazed at your incredible creativity and imagination. What a beautiful Sympathy card, I just couldn’t picture it yesterday after seeing the birthday card you made, I was wondering how it would look but you did it, this image is just so touching and it perfectly conveys the sentiment you so beautifully stamped on it. The colors of this comic book pages lend themselves so well for this card and the Sahara Sand and Pink Pirouette colors you added really are the perfect compliment for it.
The gift box is another wonderful thing you made with this comic pages, who wouldn’t love to receive this very unique little package??!!!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful projects with us.
What a beautiful image for the “recycled” sympathy card, Brian. Amazing image actually! The ribbon accent is very nice. I need to remember that idea! Thanks, Brian!
LOVE these cards! Especially the sympathy card which is just beautiful. Very creative, Brian……………love the thinking outside the box.

Your card is beautiful Brian. You get the award for recycling!
These are so beautiful and have almost a “haunting” feel to them. I love this idea. My 21 year old daughter will love them too! Thank you for sharing.
Love the ribbon tags/banners on the sympathy card. The whole card is so soft and caring. Beautiful. 🙂
Great job especially the sympathy card. You have made me appreciate anime (which is not an easy task). Love your stuff.

Brian, I’m just so stoked you found a gorgeous use for those pages! I would be lying if I said I didn’t want a sweet Easter surprise wrapped in the box. Love your candy dots and how they mesh with the circles on the comic print.
You crack me up! And yes, you are SO on the cutting edge when it comes to your creativity as well as your wit and humor! Both of which is such an inspiration to us all! Loved yesterday’s card as well as todays card and 3-D project! Kudo’s!! 🙂
Amazing and Brilliant. And how touching is your Sympathy card! The texture on the comic paper makes me want to reach out and touch it. Very interesting! Thanks so much for sharing.
Both cards are a hit but today’s card is breath taking, Brian. Thanks so much for sharing. You are one clever guy!
This card today is absolutely stunning. When you said yesterday that today’s card would be a sympathy card my thought was “out of a comic book????!!”, but it is beautiful and very touching. You NEVER cease to amaze with your wonderful creativity. You are a very talented young man!
Thank you Brian for opening a new world of creativity in our lives, so many wonderful old books now can get to see a new light in the shape of a greeting card.
These are just amazing!
You are SO cutting edge, man! Love both of these cards. SU! in Japan? Wow! Now THAT would be an incentive trip!
WOWZERS! These go from gorgeous to outstanding! You have really made an impression on me, once again. Love your choice of colors too! Beautiful!
