Spring One-for-One Swaps: Day Four

Today is the fourth (and final) day of swaps from my Spring One-for-One Swap.   While I’m sad that the sharing is over, I’m happy to be showing you this batch of beautiful cards.  I was really happy to receive them and happy to send each card to one person.  I’m really happy to share them with you today.

Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway).  If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment on the card when it debuts here.  That way, your card creator will be sure to see your comments.

The collection of cards I’ll be sharing might not all have current Stampin’ Up! products (although that was requested), but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, techniques.  Without any further ado, I’d like to introduce you to the third batch of your beautiful cards:              by Maria Rodriguez, stampwithbrian.com by Carol Snow, stampwithbrian.com by Traci Davis, stampwithbrian.com by Tammy Fletcher, stampwithbrian.com by Diana D'Arminio, stampwithbrian.com by Reisa Pentz, stampwithbrian.com by Reisa Pentz, stampwithbrian.com by Jane Mykleby, stampwithbrian.com by Patti Montijo, stampwithbrian.com by Beverly Parkinson, stampwithbrian.com by Angie Coleman, stampwithbrian.com by Joy Spayd, stampwithbrian.com by Christine Josti, stampwithbrian.com by Carol Coneeny, stampwithbrian.com by Anita Liedtke, stampwithbrian.com by Maria Rodriguez, stampwithbrian.comNow, please let these artists know how much you appreciate their cards.  Which ones stand out to you?  Did you receive one of these?  If so, please click on “comments” below and share your thoughts here.

More of these gorgeous cards to come as the week unfolds.

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. All of these cards are fabulous. Each one is special in its own way and I couldn’t decide on a favorite. They are all winners and at the top of the list! Thanks so much for posting the work of these very talented artists!

  2. Gorgeous!! The 2 I especially love are Carol Coneenys card- the large stamps can be hard- and I’ve found that DSP very difficult… But this is gorgeous!! 🙂
And Angie Coleman’s card JUST STUNNING! Wow!

  3. Oh my word! These stampers are Artists! What a great line up of cards this share has been! Well done Stampers!

  4. I finally get to share that I received Joy Spayd’s card and it is even more beautiful in person! Everyone has done such an outstanding, over the top job on their cards and it was so much fun!

  5. Beautiful ! Each one is such a display of talented artistry ! Maria`s cards are always stunning . I have to admit I am tempted to Case some of these . What a great finale to the Spring Swap ! Thank you Mr. Cruiser …. and Happy Mother`s Day to your mom !

  6. Brian, I recently found your blog and I have been enjoying seeing your one-to-one swaps. I’m pretty new to stamping, and I don’t really know how a one-to-one swap works. Can you explain that to me? Thanks!

    • Hi Heather, I periodically invited stampers to send me one handmade card and one self-addressed, stamped envelope. I mix the cards up and mail out the cards to the participants. Each person gets one card for each card they made. It’s that simple. I’m astounded by the amazing swaps I receive.

      • Thanks for the explanation of how it works. I think that is a great idea! I love that it gives you an opportunity to interact creatively with your readers. Next time you do one, I’m in! I think I’ll do a similar swap of my own in my blog soon! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi everyone and a Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there!!!!!
I finally see the other card I received and it’s the one by Carol Snow and it’s beautiful. I love the Word Bubble bundle so I truly hope it will be carried over to the big catty.
I love the colors Carol chose for my card, looks so vintage with the frayed edges and the post card stamping. Thank you Carol.
I think this card swap was amazing, every single time Brian posted the cards over the four days were fabulous. It’s such a thrill to see the different styles and the great talent displayed so beautifully. Thank you to all of you ladies who participated, lets gear up for Brian’ s next card swap.

  8. Oh so sad that the swap is over. Another set of beautiful creative cards. It truly amazes me of the talent that has been showcased. I received Carol Coneeny’s card and it is quite stunning. The flowers are so bright and vibrant against the black DSP. I believe she used crystal effects on the flowers (correct me if I’m wrong Carol) which adds even more depth. Also the blending and shading of colors are exceptional. I admire anyone who can do that. My friend Maria is very good at watercoloring as you can see in her cards today. Patti Montijo’s card stands out so with black and the pop of color. I applaud everyone who participated, job well done, take a bow. Can’t wait until the next one.

    • Yes, I used a light brushing of crystal effects on the flowers. I love crystal effects as a finishing touch on cards and always keep a bottle and at least one spare on hand! Also, crystal effects did in fact make the marker coloring on the flowers much more vibrant. Thanks for the compliments!

  9. Brian they are all pretty card designs. It is hard to pick just one. Thank you for sharing.

  13. Thank you, Christine Josti, for participating in the card swap……….I received your gorgeous card! The first thing that struck me about it (and still does) are the colors you chose…….what a striking combination of colors. I also love the triple stamping technique and your card reminded me that I need to use it more often. I appreciate your talent!

  14. So many beautiful cards and talented people!

  15. They are beautiful cards! But I have to say the 2 that stand out the most to me are the first (Fabulous Florets – Maria Rodriguez) and the ‘Door with the cat behind it’ – genius!! by Tammy Fletcher. I Love both of these cards!

  23. I was lucky enough to receive Anita’s card, all the way from Germany, and I love the cascading stamped flowers!! Thanks so much, Anita. The quote is perfect for the card too! It’s always fun to see what other people create!! Thanks again, Brian, for hosting an inspiring creative exchange.

  24. I received Maria Rodriguez card with the circles and butterflies ! The butterflies looks alive in real ! I assume you have embossed them black ? I loooove watercolouring and both of your cards are wonderful ! I loved the one with fab florets at first sight – it was my first stampset I bought !!! I would love to see more of Maria `s cards : Do you have a blog ? OF COURSE I agree with the other writers that ALL cards are great art work with lovely details and I have gotten so many new ideas and learned a lot during this card swap ! Thank you Brian !!! Greetings, Anita from craftsfunwithanita.blogspot.de

    • Maria Rodriguez

Thank you so much Anita, so glad you liked my card. The butterflies are stamped on Vellum with Stazon ink and then, brushed with SU markers. The flowers I colored them with Prismacolor pencils and Baby Oil, using paper stumps, this is a technique Patti Willey told me about and I really loved it. Unfortunately I don’t have a blog, I’ve been thinking of getting one but I’m very much computer challenged so I need some help. I’m working on it, I think it would be fun. I included my email on my card so, if you want to write to me, feel free to do so, I would love it.
Thanks again for your kind words, Happy Mom’s Day to you!!

  25. Raquel (Rocky) Martinez

Oh my goodness! Each card is more beautiful than the next. And, of course, I recongized Tammy Fletcher’s card before I saw her name. 🙂 Just her style.

Thank you Brian for sharing all of these cards with us and giving us such great ideas. You are absolutely terrific!

  26. Chris R. from Iowa

All the cards are simply wonderful! I can not pick a favorite. Thanks for showing us all this amazing talent! So glad I am finally getting your posts!

  27. Wow, what a gorgeous group of cards! I recognized Maria’s card before I scrolled down to see her name. Her water coloring is incredible. I love Reisa’s card also and I was the lucky recipient of Tammy’s card and it is beautiful. I have shown it to many friends and they all say it’s the most awesome card they’ve ever seen. The screen in the door is real, I love that! Thanks Tammy and Thanks Brian for another awesome swap.

  28. Another amazing group of cards! Maria, your water coloring is beautiful — I will use it as inspiration the next time I decide to watercolor an image! Thanks also to Carol for the idea of using crystal effects to highlight flowers — your card is lovely! Thanks to all who submitted cards for the swap — your creativity and talent is really appreciated!

  29. Thank you to all the people that participated in Brian’s swap. Your creativity is mind boggling and inspiring. Thank you Brian for sharing these beautiful cards.

  31. Ruth Ann Vincent

Beautiful cards. Thank you everyone for taking time and sharing. And a BIG THANKS to Brian for starting this fun swap and passing them on to us.
Maria, Your 2 cards here are stunning!
I like the stamp on, stamp off of Anita’s, also.
    Thank you, each one.

  32. This was as enjoyeable as tiptoeing through the tulips. What a delightly array of cards and they just make me want to head for the nursery for some plants, or to the craft room for some stamps.

  33. These cards are all so lovely! There is a lot of inspiration in this group of cards. Thank you for sharing!

  34. Thanks Brian for hosting another great swap!
Carol S., I LOVE the organic feel of your card, it is so soft and warm.
Traci, I love the continuity of the repeated pattern but with different texture, brilliant for a CAS card.
Tammy, How creative and unique your card it, I absolutely love everything about it, the colors the depth, the texture and esp. the sweet kitty.
Diana, CAS at its best! Being a HUGE Longhorn fan, I love the orange!
Reisa, on your 1st card, what a perfect execution of both CAS and masculine! I may have to CASE it with all the Sailors in my family…I have not used this stamp set in this way…yet.
on your 2nd card, I LOVE the way the black mats really make the floral DSP “POP.”
Jane, your card is so bright a cheery and it put a smile on my face to see the lovey washi tape accents.
Patti, how classy and elegant your card is and a beautiful way to highlight those gorgeous poppies.
Beverly, what a great idea to make a frame! I’ll bet that it was a booger to miter those corners?!!! Bravo to you for fussy cutting those flowers!
Angie, A great design on a personal favorite of mine. Such a beautiful wedding card!
Joy, You used my most favorite, die, framelits, and punch all in this one beauty! We must be craftin’ twins!
Christine, you have mastered a technique that I have yet to try…LOVE IT!
Carol C. Not only is your image colored so beautifully, and painstakingly fussy cut out, but the line details of the stamp mimic the patterned lines in the DSP… Please tell me that that was totally serendipitous!
Anita, you use of patriotic colors combined with the illusion of water-coloring is simply one that makes me happy!
Maria, your 1st card is simply stunning and the colors are so bright and happy…It is so out-of-the-box, for this type-A gal, to have the mane panel angled askew, but I really like it! It adds so much interest.
Your 2nd card is such a delight! The colors, the layers, the coloring…Wow!
    Valerie

  35. Brian,
Thanks so much for the wonderful swap cards you have shared with all of us, even those of us who didn’t send you a card.
Everyone sent such amazing cards. I was really psyched when I saw a card from Anita from Flensburg, Germany. My grandmother grew up there and my mother and her sister spent a year living there as young girls.
Card making and creativity are universal. Keep on inspiring us a you already do.

  36. All are incredible! Good job ladies! Brian, thanks for sharing, my absolute favorite iss both of Maria’s cards, wish I could color like that! Beautiful!

  37. More beautiful cards and lots of inspiring ideas!

  38. I’m sorry I didn’t get to post sooner. These cards are super. It is so true, you can’t just pick one. Maria, Beverly, Diana and Anita strike my fancy. There is something about all the cards that is great. These swaps are so much fun. Thanks all for inspiring each other. Have a great day. 🙂
