“Happy Fall, Y’all!” for The Paper Players

Ann Schach is hosting this week’s theme challenge over at The Paper Players – “Happy Fall, Y’all!”  What fun!  You already know it’s my favorite time of year because the air is crisp, and it means the holidays are just around the corner.  To celebrate this theme, I created a super-simple card that has all the elements of a beautiful Fall day.  Here’s my card:

Fall Fest, Draw the Line, For All Things, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP212And here’s the banner for Ann’s fun challenge:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Fun Fest.  I really like the shapes of the pumpkins in the Fun Fest stamp set – they aren’t just plump, round pumpkins you see in most Halloween images.  The fact that it comes with coordinating Framelits makes me LOVE them.  With pumpkins, leaves, a ghost and jack-o-lantern faces, you can make cute, Halloween projects or beautiful Fall projects – so versatile.  Did I say I love the pumpkins?  I clustered three objects together – you know how I love things in threes.Fall Fest, Draw the Line, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP212
  • Fun Fall Color Combination.  If you follow me on Facebook (click here if you want to follow me), then you know what travesty struck the Fungeon yesterday – I officially ran out of Whisper White card stock.  WHAT!?  I know.  This Fall challenge was welcomed as it gave me a good reason to use Very Vanilla.  Go Fall!  I used Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar and Old Olive to complete my Fall project.  If you like this combination, feel free to save this:Color Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Rounded Corners.  I layered the Very Vanilla band over the Tangerine Tango panel, allowing it to overlap a little – but not reached the edges of the card.  My rectangle piece of Tangerine Tango just looked so plain.  I decided to round the top two corners to add a little interest and to mirror the roundness of the pumpkins.  That little corner rounder really comes in handy.

Stamp Sets:  Fall Fest, Draw the Line, For All Things  Papers:  Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla  Inks:  Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, Old Olive  Accessories:  Fun Fall Framelits, Project Life Corner Rounder, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed this quick-and-easy project.

  3. Super Duper card today Brian. CAS and yet very striking. Of course these days you are working with my favorite colors – anything fall. This is the first year that I can remember having the leaves begin to change is NOT making me happy. For some reason this entire year has just gone by way too fast. However, I have made up my mind that I will enjoy every minute of this fabulous season before the snow flies and I find myself pretty much confined to the house. After all, that means I have more time to stamp and quilt. LOL You have a wonderful time Brian and I cannot, cannot, cannot believe you let yourself run out of Whisper White!

  4. Brian, I feel your pain, I ran out of whisper white paper once too. Thought I was going to cry! I’m determined to never let that happen again. Thanks again for your great ideas.

  5. I should own stock in whisper white, I tell everyone that it’s a staple for stampin’.

Brian, because of you a lot of stamps that seem just ok are being purchased because of your talent?
