For All Things and a New Video

Today I am sharing a quick-and-easy notecard I made and sent to a handful of people who’ve been really good to me lately.  If you’ve been really good to me lately, then yours just might be on its way to you right now.  🙂   I’m also sharing a quick video with a few tips to help you out when you want to mail out a handful of cards.  You’re welcome.

Here’s the notecard:

For All Things (My Digital Studio), Stampin' Up!, Brian King

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • A Grateful Background.  I used My Digital Studio (MDS) to create this background with the For All Things download.  After realizing how well these words fit together (my non-MDS card is shared a little later in this post), I thought it would be nice to crank out a few with the help of MDS.  I cropped the leaf with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die and added a cute Gold Basic Metal Button.
  • Inspiration.  I searched the internet for days to find an inspiration for this little notecard before I came across a wonderful blog called www.stampwithbrian.com.  This guy’s a real hoot – you should check him out sometime.  If you don’t follow this blog every day, you should (just add your email in the right-hand column of this post)!  I CASEd this card from him that is created with stamps and paper (no MDS) – click on the picture to see his original post:For All Things, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Button Addition.  I would probably use glue dots to adhere small, plastic buttons to a card front, but these metallic buttons are a bit heavier.  Who wants to receive a card that’s bare on the front and comes with a loose button?  I added Sticky Strip to the backs of these buttons and want to believe they are on there for good.  If yours arrived buttonless, please let me know ASAP.  🙂

And now for the video I promised.  I think you’ll like these quick-and-easy tips and tricks:

  1. I know that guy you referred to; he is a hoot! And thanks or the tip on the envelope sealer. You just madey Christmas card sealing days that much easier. Thanks for the timely tip!

  2. You know what I love about this? It’s the “duh” factor. Like, DUH, how did I not figure this out sooner? I HATE licking envelopes and I am prissy, so I don’t use sponges either since my hands get wet. 🙂 And the copy paper slip to get the card in easily???? OK, this is great stuff. Thanks for the great tips!

  3. You’re too funny! I follow that crazy guys blog too, isn’t he great? Love your cards today. Happy Stampin ‘!

  4. Good basic tips ! These kind of hints and ideas are so helpful . Brian`s Basics !
Something else you slipped by that I forgot about …. To do the front of your card then fold it ! I noticed you did that ….see how observant I am ?
I like this card today . I am beginning to really want some of those gold buttons too .
That one adds a glint of shine and does not look too bulky for mailing . TFS…

  5. Now why didn’t I think of that? Thanks, Brian!

  6. No more dry sticky tongue syndrome. I will most definitely check this Brian guy’s blog and youtube channel. Might be someone I will consider following. LOL I always enjoy your tips and videos……Thank You! Oh by the way, woke up to a blanket of snow this morning in Ohio. Too early for me.

  7. Oh Brian – I am so glad to hear you follow that funny guy’s blog. Not only is he funny but he is uber creative and has a smile that lights up a room. All of his followers look forward to his videos and if we are away (not all of us have laptops or smart phones) we suffer from BW (Brian Withdrawal). It’s a pretty serious condition that can take weeks to recover from! I think this card is wonderful – simple yet poignant. Just fabulous, as always.

  8. Brian, your video was a good giggle for me this morning! The old Aqua Painter-as-an-envelope-sealer-trick! (said in my best Maxwell Smart voice) Why didn’t I think of that???? As usual, TFS.

I agree, another “Duh” moment! I noticed you had a button on the card – any quick tips on how to mail them? I usually fold them wrong side out and include a small piece of the bubble wrap on the button part. I am sure there are better ways. Or, have you addressed this and I missed this?

  15. Awesome tip to load our embellished cards in the envelope with no troubles, I always struggle to do that, sometimes I opt to turn the card inside out jut to get it inside. Gosh, why didn’t I think of that? Hmm.. maybe because I’m not Brian King!!!
Thank you so much for the video with this great tips.
    Enjoy your weekend.

You’re a genius. Now, why didn’t I think of that idea to use my aqua painter to seal envelopes. I love your “hint” videos. I always learn something new.

  17. Just found your web site. Thanks for the tips for the envelope.
