New Video: Tips for Adhering Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum

I’ve already admitted my obsession with Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum – one of a variety of items added to Sale-a-Bration in March.  During March, you can earn several exclusive items with every $50 you spend.  AND, as of yesterday, there are a handful more items that can be earned during Sale-a-Bration.  What a deal that shouldn’t be missed!  You can see all of the Sale-a-Bration items here:

But today’s post is all about the vellum.  Vellum is not always easy to work with.  Because of its transparency, it can be tricky to glue it to a project.  The video I’m sharing today shows three ways to glue down this incredible vellum so that the glue is not a problem.  It’s like magic!  Here’s my video:

So, there you have it – three projects that show a variety of ways you can creatively glue down your vellum without a visible trail of glue.

Here’s another quick tip:  On the card with the banner across the middle, I glue the banner down before popping up the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  It’s hard to see in this picture, but I added a Dimensional under the banner to add a needed lift in the middle of the card.

Great video, Brian … the vellum is such a luxurious addition to cards! And the gluing issue might keep people from bothering to add it. You’ve shared good tips. Thank you!

  7. Good Morning Brian:

Great video and so very helpful. Vellum is such a beautiful addition to any card but has always been a problem. Question: Can you use the SU adhesive transfer sheets with the vellum without the glue showing?

Thanks and have a fantastic day.

    • Grace,
Thanks! The Adhesive Sheets leave tiny, tiny dots of adhesive (vs a solid sheet of adhesive). I tried it – it leaves a uniform number of dots that make the paper look lightly polka-dotted. Not invisible but MUCH better than glue or SNAIL. Depends on the look you are going for.
