2016 Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peek – Honeycomb Happiness

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve shared a couple of new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Occasions Catalog.  Today, I’m excited to share one of my favorite products from Sale-a-Bration (Stampin’ Up!’s annual event during which you to earn select products with EVERY $50 of purchases between January and March).  The Sale-a-Bration brochure is filled with great stamp sets and papers – one of my favorites is Honeycomb Happiness, a stamp set that couldn’t be any more adorable.  Here’s a sweet card I made with this set:

  • Honeycomb Happiness.  I mean, really.  How adorable is this little chick?  There was a super-popular, chubby bird in last year’s Sale-a-Bration brochure (remember this one?), so it seems perfectly fitting that we would have another.  This little chick, though, is the sweetest thing on Earth.  The set is designed to coordinate with little, honeycomb embellishments – you’ll see more of that later.  I stamped her (I suppose it could be a “him” but I like to think it’s a “her”) with Archival Basic Black in on So Saffron cardstock and snipped her out.  I simply colored the feet and beak with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.  The balloon, also from this set, was stamped on the Whisper White cardstock and again on Blushing Bride – I snipped out the Blushing Bride balloon and glued him (I’m pretty sure balloons are “him”s) down to the original balloon.  Here’s a look at this set (I bet you can think of a hundred reasons why you need this stamp set):

  • Party with Cake.  I really love the typed fonts in the sentiment in the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set.  They are so prim and proper – but still so much fun.  None of them gave me the sentiment I wanted for this card, so I reached for a new set from the Occasions Catalog – Party with Cake.  More typed fonts, but these are different – yet still super-trendy and super-fun. “Happy birthday” seemed a little too plain for this bird” and “Let’s party!” seemed a little perverted for a tiny bird.  “Make a wish” was the perfect fit to coordinate with the bird as she hides that balloon behind her back.  I’ve got another project with this set planned for Monday – so be sure to come back to see it.  🙂

  • Sweet Color Combination.  The background paper on this card is from English Garden Designer Series Paper.  The blue is a light shade of Night of Navy – such a sweet pattern to coordinate with the chick and balloon, don’t you think?  Light blue, light pink and light yellow are a perfect combination, so they worked together here.  For this combination, I paired the yellow and pink with Lost Lagoon (even though the paper is not Lost Lagoon).  If you also like this sweet combination of colors, feel free to save this:   Stampin' Up!
