HAPPY about the Balloon Bouquet Punch – a Sneak Peek

Amid all the preparations for Christmas (is it really here already?), I’ve really enjoyed playing around with all of my new goodies from Stampin’ Up!’s 2016 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure.  As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I have access to these new goodies today – everyone else can start ordering them January 5.  What fun!  My card today incorporates some one of my favorite items from the new Occasions Catalog (the Balloon Bouquet punch) with some great products from the 2015 Annual Catalog.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

• Lettered Ballons.  The Occasions Catalog is one huge celebration – it’s filled to the brim with balloons of every style.  While there are endless opportunities to add fun textures to the balloons (well, maybe not endless…), I decided to let the colors and shapes speak for themselves.  After I punched the smallest balloons in the Balloon Bouquet punch with five of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors, I stamped these fun letters with Archival Basic Black ink.  Because the alphabet stamps are photopolymer, I could see exactly where I wanted to stamp them.  What fun!  When your Balloon Bouquet punch arrives in January, make sure you have this alphabet set on hand – you’ll thank me.  🙂
  

  Back to Basics Alphabet, Stampin’ Up!

• Subtle Strings.  While I was making this card, I stamped the strings for the balloons (I used a fun string from the Balloon Builders stamp set), I stamped five strings with Basic Black.  While that might be the ideal color for a larger panel, Basic Black was just too much for my project.  What to do?  What to do?  I cut and new panel and stamped the strings in Smoky Slate – that gave me the perfect intensity for the subtle strings.  It’s all in the details, right?
• Sweet Celebration.  After I had assembled this panel of balloons, I remembered this fun piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack – the Pool Party panel with the white confetti and balloon strings gave me the perfect backdrop for my balloons.  I originally chose Pool Party for the backdrop to coordinate with these balloons since the Pool Party balloon was in the center.  If you like this sweet combination of Subtles and Brights colors, feel free to save this:
