When You Have Good Company

There are so many ways to make awesome Valentine’s Day cards.  If you are going for a mushy, lovey-dovie card, then hearts and flowers are the perfect solution.  Lots of red and pink, too!  But what if you just want to say “my life is good with you” and save all the mushy stuff for the inside?  I have a solution for you – a clean and simple card I’ve created for this week’s Paper Players and Global Design Project challenges.  What fun!  Here’s my card:

Beautiful Ride, Project Life Let's Get Away, Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP278, GDP019 And here are the banners for the challenges that inspired my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Such a Beautiful Ride.  Yesterday I shared a project with the Love Bug featured in the Beautiful Ride stamp set – this set is filled with lots of great sentiments and a Volkswagen Bug that’s the focal image of the set – if you missed that project, you can see it here.  Today, I just used one of the great sentiments from this set for my statement of love – “no road is too long when you have good company.”  Love it!  I paired it with this cute, little car and camper (they are going on a wonderful trip) for a clean and simple image.

  • Customizing my Designer Series Paper.  I love to take a beautiful piece of printed paper and customize it for the project I’m creating.  Have you ever noticed that?  Rather than just leave this [already gorgeous] piece of paper alone (the original print is in Basic Black and Very Vanilla), I randomly colored in some of the paths with my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker to tie-in the background paper with the other colors on my card.  What fun!Beautiful Ride, Project Life Let's Get Away, Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, PP278, GDP019
  • Color Combination.  This combination of colors doesn’t exactly scream “VALENTINE’S DAY!!”, but I think they work well here.  I love how Calypso Coral pops against Basic Black and how Smoky Slate just adds a light touch.  If you also like this combination of colors, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up!
