DAY ONE: Spring 2016 One-for-One Swaps

DAY ONE: One-for-One Card SwapsToday’s the day!  After a couple of weeks of collecting GORGEOUS cards in my mailbox for my Spring One-for-One Card Swap, I have the pleasure of sharing them with you.  Today I’m sharing SEVENTEEN amazing cards from YOU.  To top that off, those of you who participated have already begun to receive your fun mail in return.  This Spring One-for-One Swap was filled with beautiful inspiration, and I know you’re going to love these projects.

In a series of several posts over the next week, I will share these cards with everyone.  I love these swaps because they showcase beautiful projects from cardmakers at ALL SKILL LEVELS – some are brand new to the craft, and others have been creating for years.  Please look them over, admire their beauty and then let the creators know how beautiful their cards are (I already know you’ll be kind with your comments, but I am going to request it, anyway).

If you participated in the swap and don’t see the card you received here, please wait to comment on the card when it debuts here.  That way, the creator of that card will be sure to see your comments.

The collection of cards I’ll be sharing might not all have current Stampin’ Up! products, but every card gives good ideas for color combinations, layouts, techniques.  They are sure to inspire you.  Without any further ado, here is the first batch of your beautiful cards:

  9. Oh, yay! I’ve been waiting with baited breath for the reveals. (Is that like morning breath? Hope not!) All of these cards are lovely in their own special way. Good job, everyone! I didn’t go downstairs to get my mail yesterday, but you can be sure I will be down there every day until I get my swap. Thank you, thank you, Brian, for all the work you put into this; it is such a thrill to see one’s own card presented in this national forum and to see so many wonderful ideas for cards.

  13. I am the lucky recipient of Rosanne’s card! I love the soft look of the card. My favorite detail is the vellum happy birthday banner placed at an angle over the butterfly…….perfect finishing touch! What kind of adhesive did you use to attach it, Rosanne? Thanks so much for participating!

    • Susan, I received your card today and absolutely love the hummingbird. Your stamping is perfect. Thanks Brian, for sending me Susan’s card. I found this tape runner at AC Moore, I think it is by Nicole, that allows you to adhere vellum without showing through. It is really inexpensive too.

It is even cuter in person than pictured. Thanks so much Rosemary for the card and all the inspiration you sent. I plan to pull out some ink, washi, and paper today to see what I can do. This card is definitely a keeper.

  30. What I love is that there are so many ways to use ink, stamps and paper and no two people will use it all the same. Such variety and beauty, it would be hard to say what I like best. I did receive my swap and my card is from Jesse Naylor. I love it, a great masculine card Jesse! Thank you Brian for orchestrating the swap and your hard work!

  31. I love all the cards …they are so pretty…everyone did an awesome job….I started to make a card…but I always think my cards are not good enough…I hope you will do this again and perhaps I just might enter a card…thanks for sharing all these beautiful cards..

  32. This is new to me….what do you mean when you say you are going to case a card…hope it is not a dumb question….and again all the cards are just awesome…

    • CASE means to “copy and share everything.” While some take it to mean that you copy every aspect of a card (while giving credit to the original creator), many people CASE a technique, layout, color scheme or an aspect of a card to create their own that is inspired by the card they CASE. Make sense?

  33. Brian, what a great variety of cards. They are all great! I received mine and I love it. I’ll wait to comment until it is on your site. Thanks so much for doing this, all the coordinating, photographs are awesome.

  34. How fun to see all these beautiful cards ! Thank you for sharing !

  37. Hi Brian,
Got my card in the mail today.
Will wait till it shows up on the web to comment on it but wanted to share a “funny” with you and everyone else.
The envelope was laying on the table with my husband came home from work and ask with a very serious face…”when did you start sending yourself cards?”
Needless to say I busted out laughing and then tried to explain it.
This is my first swap by mail and will definitely do it again in the future.

  38. What wonderful cards! I received mine in the mail yesterday, Tamara you made a beautiful card and I cannot wait for everyone to see it 🙂
Brian, thank you so much for all your hard work organizing the swap, so happy that I was able to participate.

  39. I think if I has to choose favorites I would pick Susan’s hummingbird card and Rosemary’s washi tape card. This was such a fun swap! With only one card to make, it was easy for us, yet we get to enjoy them all here on the blog. Thanks so much for hosting, Brian!
