A Marquee Messages Wow!

Today, I’m excited to share a super-simple and super-fun card with a super-easy recipe: it’s one part celebration and two parts “wow!”.  That’s it!  Oh!  And I’ll show you how to use Marquee Messages in a way you might not have thought to use it.  Here’s my card:

Tips, Tricks and Reminders

  • Marquee Messages.  I’ve heard several people “swear off” Marquee Messages because they call it a “one-trick pony.”  They contend that you can only make one card with it – a bit marquee sign with words.  That’s not true!  I’ve made four other cards so far with elements of this set, and I don’t think they look alike at all.  You can click on any of these cards to see the previous posts:Marquee Messages, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, Sneak Peek Marquee Messages, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FMS233, Sneak Peek Marquee Messages, Happy Happenings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King, FMS237 Confetti Celebration, Marquee Messages, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Creating a Stand-alone Arrow.  In the first card above, I snipped all the pieces to layer over the marquee.  In the third, I used only the base of the sign for a clean-and-simple card.  The other two cards featured just the sentiments.  Today’s card, though, showcases the point of the arrow – I cropped the arrow after creating a thin, black across it (see below) with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (still offered as an individual marker – #100082).  A little snipping, and I now have an arrow that can be used to draw focus to almost anything.  How easy what that?!?Marquee Messages, Sunburst Sayings, Stampin' Up!, Brian King
  • Color Combination.  I’ve been using a lot of blues lately – Bermuda Bay gives me a little green at the same time.  Paired with Whisper White and Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay takes on a new look.  The yellow really plays with the green in Bermuda Bay, don’t you think?  If you, too, like this combination, feel free to save this:Stampin' Up!
