I’m really excited to share today’s card with you. You’ve seen lots of beautiful ways to use Thoughtful Branches, an amazing bundle that will be available to customers August 2 (more on that later in the post). Beautiful images of trees and flowers and birds – and the most incredible sentiments ever – make this bundle a must-have! Today, though, I’m sharing a different take on the tree from this set. Along with some other punches and an unexpected stamp set, I’ve created a super-fun Halloween scene:
- Thoughtful Branches. I was instantly in love with this Thoughtful Branches bundle when it was introduced to demonstrators in early July. What’s NOT to love about gorgeous sentiments in an incredible font and beautiful images that can be used for all types of cards? These intricate dies that are sure to be a classic. I’m excited for my customers to be able to purchase this bundle on August 2 – the options are endless with this bundle. Here’s a peek at the amazing new bundle:
- Bad Stuff. The tree from Thoughtful Branches is so beautiful, but it takes on a new look when set against a dark sky, a glowing moon and a spooky cloud. How fun is it to then add this “bad stuff happens” sentiment from a Here for You (a “wishing you well” stamp set) on a Halloween card? You have to read it with a breathy, low voice. Let’s try that together – “Baaaaad stuff haaappenssss.” There you go! You now see the difference!
- Playful Palette of Spooky. I adore the colors in this card – the combination of grays and blacks (Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Basic Black) create a mood while the bold, Crushed Curry moon adds a creepy bit of light. I added thin borders of Tangerine Tango to solidify the Halloweeniness of this card. Behind this spooky scene is a design from the Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack. The scattered dissonance of this pattern reminded me of television static you see in several scary movies, so I thought it would add a nice contrast here.
Stamp Sets: Here for You Papers: Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla Inks: Archival Basic Black Accessories: Beautiful Branches Thinlits Dies, 2″ Circle punch, Tree Builder punch (cloud), Stampin’ Dimensionals
More Thoughtful Branches. To further review the flexibility of this amazing bundle, here are two cards I’ve already shared with you that feature this gorgeous stamp set and/or Framelits. You can click on either photo to see my original post about each project:
So…what do you think? Does this bundle tickle your fancy? Is it top of your wishlist for August? I hope so! Thanks for stopping by today!

Couldn’t get to the page where that birthday card was so am commenting here–beautifully done & I am certain her friend is going to treasure this one for many years. I appreciated your detailing the difference between framelits and thinlits!!!!! Thanks for that info.
Brilliant for Halloween or to get a chuckle from a friend year round. Love how you turned the Beautiful Branches tree into something spooky!
I love saying things in a low, breathy voice, Brian. You are a hoot! Your card is over the top stunning, my friend!
Love it ! I feel like whispering “It was a dark and stormy night …..” That we use to start our scary stories with ….
Great use of your creative MOJO !
I was just laughing (to myself) about your name for your craft room – “Fungeon”. My husband, adult children & I call my craft room “The Lab” short for and more politically correct than its original name – “Meth Lab”. Wondering if other people have nick names for their craft rooms. ?
Frightfully fun! I love the background mat paper – perfect with this! I like Sonny’s thought for inside the card… The other two cards made with this set are pretty cool too. I just don’t know if I could justify the price though. Have a great weekend and stay cool, it is hot here.
BRILLIANT!!
So clever! Great colors and design. I especially like the sentiment used for something fun! Ingenious!
Brian, while I have a demo where I live in Illinois, you are my favorite designer. I would never have thought to use the elements you used and can’t wait to make a similar card. I visit your website often and thank you for your thoughtful ideas. — Ellie P.
What a splendid idea! Love how you teach us to think outside the box. Great card!
Such a great idea Brian. Everything looks great.

OMG. Best. Halloween. Card. Ever. !!! I already knew I wanted to use the tree along this line, and I’m in love with the Here for You set anyway–but to use it like this is just incredible. Thou art brilliant!!…and gonna get CASE’d big-time!
Great card…love the color combo!
