When I first saw the sketch for this week’s Global Design Project challenge, I instinctively knew I’d be putting something petite and cute in the top, left corner of my card. I didn’t know it would be an adorable onesie from Stampin’ Up!’s Every Occasion stamp set, but it seemed to make sense. Here’s my card for this week’s GDP challenge:
- Every Occasion. When I said this onesie was petite and adorable, my statement was no exaggeration. What an adorable image for this card! This set is very reminiscent of Every Little Thing, a set I loved from a couple years ago – lots of tiny images for all occasions. With twenty (20) petite images and no sentiment, this set is super-fun for tags or cards. Even a super-clean card with one image and a paired sentiment would be adorable. TIP: Consider buying this set in wood mount. I find the smallest and largest stamps work best in wood mount. For my taste, the images are too small for clear mount.
- Little Tag. The tag that appears in the top, left corner of this card is cropped with the Tags & Labels Thinlits. I tried so many different ways to add a blue and yellow tag or yellow tag with a blue border, but I couldn’t get it the way I wanted. Turned out the So Saffron tag – all by itself – was perfect. It adds a little color to this side of the card and serves as a perfect base for this tiny onesie. These tags are far more useful than I ever anticipated they would be.
- Color Combination. We typically turn to pastels for baby cards. While So Saffron is definitely a soft, pastel yellow, Dapper Denim in a much deeper blue that what you’d expect to see on a baby card, right? Because the blue is relatively limited on this card, it seems to work for me. If you like this combination of blue, yellow and white, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Every Occasion, Happy Happenings Papers: Dapper Denim, So Saffron, Whisper White, Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (So Saffron) Inks: Dapper Denim Accessories: Tags & Labels Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to The Global Design Project site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
