The very moment I saw this weeks’ fun Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Kim Singdahlsen, I knew I’d be making a pretty Easter- or Spring-themed card. I was itching to play with my Basket Bunch bundle from the Occasions Catalog, and Kim’s sketch was exactly what I needed. These colors are contrary to the Winter chill, but that makes them all that much more refreshing. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge that inspired my card:
- Basket Bunch. If you are excited to make adorable, fun projects for Easter, then the Basket Bunch is for you! What an adorable mix of sweet bunnies, bitty chicks and beautiful flowers. There are peeps and chocolate bunnies and many, many eggs. These Basket Builder Framelits Dies are perfectly paired with the stamps, and there are some great Thinlits in there, too. The patch of grass has so many great uses, and the three eggs can be used for beautiful and sophisticated projects. This set is super-flexible for either cute or beautiful projects.
- Build-a-Basket. I was thrilled with how beautifully and easily the dies helped me to create a beautiful basket of flowers. So sweet! As with arranging real flowers, the arrangement didn’t look so great until I was done. To show you how this is assembled, I’m sharing my after and before shots. Here’s a closeup of the basket when it was done and glued to the project.
Beautiful, right? Before I glued it down, I snapped this picture of the back of the basket to show how many pieces come together to make this image come to life.
- Spring Colors. To create this beautiful, ombre backdrop for the flowers (doesn’t it look like the sun is about to rise behind these flowers?). It was simple to create – I simply cropped the design from a page of Stampin’ Up!’s By the Shore Designer Series Paper. Easy! The remaining colors were selected to pair with the Calyspo Coral in this paper. If you like this combination of soft colors, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Basket Bunch Papers: By the Shore Designer Series Paper, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Whisper White Inks: Archival Basic Black Accessories: Basket Builder Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Fun card. Love the background choice too. One would think spring is on it’s way when checking out your cute basket of daffodils but we are to have rain Sunday turning to ice. Not fun but it could be a lot worse!
Oh NO! I had no interest in this set at all and now I want it in a bundle. I totally overlooked the daffodils and I think they are super great. The bow is very cute too!
