I’m excited to share a project for the Fab Friday sketch challenge that kicks off today. This simple sketch gave me a great opportunity to play around with a couple of new products from the Birthday Memories Suite of products in Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Annual Catalog. This suite is sure to be on your “must have” list when the catalog launches June 1. Here’s my card:
And here’s the banner for the challenge that inspired my card:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Birthday Memories Suite. Do you remember the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper that was offered by Stampin’ Up! two years ago? All the nostalgic images were amazing! Well, Stampin’ Up! has done it again. The Birthday Memories Suite offers adorable schoolbook characters with stamps, dies and a gorgeous set of papers. Here’s a peek at the stamp set (from the display board at OnStage):
And here’s a peek at the paper (also from the display board):
What makes this suite so amazing (other than the adorable images) is that stamps, dies and papers are offered in a three-product bundle. These dies work with the stamps and many of the images in the paper. I cropped the banner (with Framelits) and the bunny (with paper snips) from the paper above for today’s project.
- A Little Balance. I snipped this bunny from the paper – so cute! He looked so fun on this Stitched Shapes Circle, and the banner is a perfect fit for this sketch. I was in Heaven with the choices available to me. THEN…I glued the bunny too far on the right of the circle such that I was left with a lot of space there. Meh. So I found this sweet present to just balance the circle – AND balance the colors. While the bunny pulled in the red and yellow from the base of the card, the present pulled in the blue. Yay! I didn’t realize it until I had snipped this present by hand, but there’s a Framelit in the set that would perfectly crop the present. Still, I had fun snipping.
- Primary Colors. There are lots of brilliant and beautiful colors in Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper. With the bunny and present, I focused on the three primary colors in the pack – Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Pacific Point. These primary colors are a perfect foundation for such playful and fun projects – especially for children (or child-like people). If you like this combination of colors, please save this:
Stamp Sets: Birthday Delivery Papers: Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, Real Red, Pacific Point, Thick Whisper White Inks: Archival Basic Black Accessories: Birthday Friends Framelits Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Stampin’ Dimensionals
I hope you’ll pop over to the FabFriday site to see the cards by the design team members and to play along with this week’s challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today!
