On Monday I shared a sneak peek at the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die, a single die with a huge impact. If you missed that post, you can see it here. At the same time that I was designing that card, I was asked to create ten swaps for Julie DiMatteo’s Paper Pixies team meeting (Julie is a member of my InKing Royalty team, and she invited Pam and me to join them during their meeting). What a great group – I’ll share more from that meeting tomorrow.
I CASE’d my project from Monday to make the swaps for this meeting (I used the same basic layout – removed the bow and added two white strips of cardstock above and below the 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ square panel). Here’s a quick “infinity shot” of my swaps for Monday’s event:
As you might be able to tell from the picture, I featured Stampin’ Up!’s 2017-2019 In Colors in these cards – what an amazing collection of colors!
While we’re talking about the new In Colors, here’s a peek at the Designer Series Papers I used for my card – Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, a Designer Series Paper Stack that features four designs (from the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper in the 2016 Annual Catalog) with the five In Colors. The pages have a lightly distressed look that adds a beautiful touch to the designs. Here’s a look at this stack of papers:
How gorgeous is that paper?! Here’s a look at the single Thinlits Die that was used on these cards (it can be purchased individually or as a part of the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Bundle). Both are amazing deals!
Here are my closeups of my cards (I made two of each for the swaps), along with the coordinating color combinations for each. I love these color pairings:
Fresh Combination: Powder Pink & Rich Razzleberry
Fresh Combination: Lemon Lime Twist & Pool Party
Fresh Combination: Fresh Fig & Old Olive
Fresh Combination: Tranquil Tide & Daffodil Delight
Fresh Combination: Berry Burst & Emerald Envy
These cards were fun to make – and the simple layout made them easy to complete. Aren’t these colors and papers amazing?! What do you think about these color pairings? Do you have a favorite? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Brian

Great card. I like the color combinations you used and the strips of paper give the card “pop”.
Really beautiful individually or as a collection!
These color combinations are SO incredible! I had a very hard time picking a favorite, but I do so love my Berry Burst/Emerald Envy one!
You have such a gift for color! I love all your combos and how you showcase them!
Adorable cards Brian, I love the font of that Happy Birthday thinlit. I fell in love with that DSP when it first appeared in Night of Navy (which I feel should have been included, but oh well). I’m sure everyone loved your swap.
I love these cards & colors. Can’t wait for the new catalog. Thank you Brian
Oh Brian – how many times can I tell you what an Artistic Genius you are? Your cards today are fabulous as always and your color combinations will save me from hours of trying to make great combo’s. Thank you.
You really rocked it with these cards. I love everything about them!

I have a girl crush on Pam.
Brian,
Love your blog and all the ideas you share! How do you make the circular color swatches? They are so classy!
Thanks, Lynda! I appreciate it. I designed these in Powerpoint and just update the colors and names for each color combination. They’d be easy to make in PicMonkey, too.
Love your use of colors
