I love non-traditional colors for Christmas – while green and red are all around us during the Holidays, blues can be gorgeous, metallic shades can really shine and a black-and-white card can be stunning. For my local club this past week, we showcased Carols of Christmas bundle in Rose Red and Wild Wasabi for a gorgeous card. Here’s one of the projects we made:
Tips, Tricks and Reminders
- Carols of Christmas. I spent the first six days of this month announcing that the Carols of Christmas bundle is not available – a terrible typo for someone who really wants to sell a lot of this bundle. 🙂 The bundle is, in fact, now available. What a gorgeous collection of stamps and dies – it’s not until you really study the stamps and dies that you see all of the possibilities. I’ve showcased this set a few times on my blog, but this is the first time I’m showing these really fun ornaments! Here’s a look at this bundle:
- It’s the Little Things. Sometimes the little things make a really big difference. After the Archival Basic Black ink dried on this sentiment, I used a Rose Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the long, slender accents on the letters in this gorgeous stamp. That little accent made me so happy and made a big difference on the overall look of the card. Here’s a closer look:
Speaking of little things…the new Mini Dimensionals work perfectly with these little ornaments. YAY!
- Softer Christmas Colors. I love the large panels of white on this card and how all that white is beautifully framed with Rose Red and Wild Wasabi. If you want a card that really stands out on the mantel at your friend’s house this Holiday Season, consider using these softer colors. You’re welcome for the suggestion. 🙂

Hi Brian,
Nice card and color combo. Thanks for sharing and have a good day.
Brian – I love the color combination. I’ll definitely be saving that one – thanks for sharing.
This is a fantastic card Brian and I love the use of traditional colors softened up with the Rose Red and Wild Wasabi. I was trying not to buy any more Christmas stamps as I have so many of them but you have convinced me that this one is extra special. Also, I am so glad SU decided to come up with the mini dimensionals. Thanks for sharing and the best tip ever was filling in the slender accents on the letters. You’re right – it’s the little things that make the difference between a nice card and a fabulous one.
BEAUITFUL my friend , but I’m not ready for Christmas,
But it’s coming,and I love those colors ♥️♥️
Hugs Frenchie
Leave it to BK to add that pop of color to the sentiment and turn it into a total WOW! Well done!
Leave it to you Brian, to find a spot to color in, I totally love those spots of roes red in the letters!
Rose Red for Christmas…. what a rebel you are.
What a gorgeous card, your color selections are spot on. I’ll be honest it’s not my favorite bundle, but you’re making me reconsider with this card.
Gorgeous!
