Ready for Christmas with Cookies for Santa

Thank you for all the wonderful response to yesterday’s fun project with Santa and his cookie (if you missed it, you can check it out here).  Today’s post features more cookies for Santa.  I love the little table in Ready for Christmas.  So many great ways to decorate this little table for some holiday fun.  Rather than create a full scene with all the amazing images in the stamp set, I decided to make a fun card that just features the table and the cookies with a note for Santa.  I wanted to paper snip, so I got to work and made this card:

    • Ready for Christmas Bundle.  Want your Christmas card to showcase a perfect scene for Christmas morning?  Want to showcase the stairs, festooned with garland and big, beautiful Christmas tree?  If you answered yes to these questions, then the Ready for Christmas bundle is for you!  Here’s a look at this fun bundle (you can click on the photo to see the products in my online store):

And here’s a fun Stampin’ Up! video that showcases this bundle:

  • Display Layers.  I stamped these images right on the Whisper White oval with Archival Basic Black AND stamped each of the images on different papers.  I snipped each of the elements and glued them down on the Whisper White paper.  Here’s a closer look at the focal image of this card:  Ready for Christmas, Stampin' Up!, Brian KingAnd here are the papers used for each:
    • table – Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack
    • cookie tray – Very Vanilla
    • cookies – Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack
    • note to Santa – Shimmery White
  • White Borders.  I love to create thin, white borders on some of my cards.  For a long time, I felt like a border needed to be darker than the base it frames.  Somewhere along the way, I framed something with white and completely fell in love.  The white borders around the card card and around the oval help those pieces to really pop off the page.  Because I was limited in the sizes of ovals, I made the outside border a little thicker than normal to let it mimic the width of the one beneath the red oval.

Stamp Sets:  Ready for Christmas  Papers:  Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper Stack, Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack, Real Red, Whisper White, Very Vanilla  Inks:  Archival Basic Black  Accessories:  Layering Ovals Framelits Dies, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Brian’s Bundles

Have you ever wished there was an “I Want Everything Button” for the launch of a catalog (I’m sure I could work one up for you if you need one)?  This new catalog is AMAZING, and I’m thrilled to share it with you!  To help you make the most of your 2017 Holiday Catalog purchases, I’ve created four, limited-time bundles with select bundles in the Holiday Catalog:

  • Christmas Quilt
  • Merry Little Christmas
  • Painted Harvest
  • Spooky Night

I added up products for each of these bundles (each already includes a 10% off bundle) and took off at least 10% more on each.  That’s like getting free shipping!  You’ll definitely want to review my bundles…

  1. Good morning Brian,
Very clever idea with the table.
    Have a great day.

  2. Ohhhh!! This card is just so darn sweet and the DSP is a dream.
I think this design can be mass produced easily.
Thank you for the inspiration, Brian.
    Have a wonderful day!!
    XO
    Maria.

    • Thanks so much, Maria! You are right – this paper is pretty wonderful! This card could easily be mass-produced (if you just color in the images vs. paper snip them). Either way, it was fun to make.

  3. This table is sweet as can be with just the cookies on top. No need to “make a scene!”

  4. This is just super cute! I love that you just picked the one scene to showcase. ❤

  5. Aww! This sweet card brings Christmas memories to mind. Love it!

  6. Santa, cookies, no need for anything else. Well, maybe next time add a glass of milk (or coffee, he has a long night.) Card is totally adorable!

  7. Adorable card Brian, it shows the versatility of that bundle. You truly don’t need to use all of it to make a memorable card. The dsp is also showing it can shine and be a savvy purchase on its own. Everything about this card works together beautifully. Great job

  8. This card alone is what is making me rethink “I don’t need this set”!
    Omg..so adorable!

  9. Love, love, love this card Brian. It really showcases the DSP and your white oval frame looks fabulous! Fantastic job my friend and I didn’t even mention your amazing snipping skills. 🙂

    • Thanks, Grace! I always appreciate your comments. I was about to say, “she didn’t mention my amazing snipping skills,” but then you said it, so… Thanks!

  10. SMH -(shaking my head) at how sweet this card is!!!

    • RTSOFMMDIWLLAFBLMPDETYTIRAS – Rolling the sides of my mouth down in what looks like a frown but letting my puppy dog eyes tell you that it’s really a smile.

  11. I was trying to work in your RTSOF….. into the basset hound look. I think Teddy decided something was up so he left the room! Anyway, love the card and I love the mat with the little smidge of white with the red. I am trying to do this more and more as I really like the contrast with the white. I think I learned it from you! Great card and boy, I have a hankering for some chocolate chip cookies !

  12. Oh so sweet , Santa will love those cookies , yummy,
    Hugs Frenchie ♥️

  13. This is one of my favorite things about a lot of your cards. You take one image and build a whole card around it. It’s brilliant!
